Nos complace en informarle que Channelview ISD continuará con la implementación de la Disposición de Elegibilidad Comunitaria (CEP – por sus siglas en Ingles) bajo los Programas Nacionales de Almuerzo y Desayuno Escolar para el año escolar 2020 - 2021. En las escuelas de CEP, las aplicaciones de comida ya no serán requeridas.

La Disposición de Elegibilidad Comunitaria (CEP), es una disposición clave de la Ley de Niños Saludables y Sin Hambre del 2010, el cual les permite que los distritos y las escuelas que califican brinden comidas sin costo a TODOS los estudiantes sin recolectar las aplicaciones de los hogares. Esta alternativa le ahorrara a los distritos y escuelas tiempo y dinero al simplificar el papeleo y los requisitos administrativos. El CEP brindara a los profesionales de los servicios de alimentos más tiempo para concentrarse en la preparación de comidas nutritivas que sus alumnos disfrutarán, y les dará a los estudiantes más tiempo para comer esas comidas al reducir el tiempo que pasan en la línea del almuerzo. Debido a que todos los estudiantes recibirán comidas sin cargo, los niños individuales en las escuelas de CEP ya no tendrán que preocuparse por el estigma asociado con el estado de precio reducido o gratuito. Y lo más importante, al ofrecerle a todos los estudiantes un desayuno y almuerzo nutritivo sin costo alguno, CEP ayudara a aumentar la participación, ayudando a las escuelas a garantizar que más estudiantes vayan a clases bien nutridos y listos para aprender. We are pleased to inform you that Channelview ISD will continue to implement the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for the 2020 – 2021 school year. In CEP schools, meal applications are no longer required.

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a key provision of The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, allows the qualifying districts and schools to serve meals at no charge to ALL students without the burden of collecting household applications. This alternative saves districts and schools time and money by streamlining paperwork and administrative requirements. CEP gives food service professionals more time to focus on preparing nutritious meals their students will enjoy, and gives students more time to eat those meals by cutting down on time spent in the lunch line. Because all students receive meals at no charge, individual children at CEP schools no longer have to worry about the stigma associated with free or reduced price status. And most importantly, by offering all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, CEP helps boost participation, helping schools ensure more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn.
