What Characterizes a church ?

• “I know thy works…” (Rev. 3:15) Our works – what we actually do determines our character.– Stedfast -testing for Truth (Rev. 2:2)– Growing in deeds of love, faith, service

stedfastness (Rev. 2:19)– Dead (Rev. 3:1)– Taking advantage of opportunity given – keeping

the word (Rev. 3:8)

“thou art neither cold nor hot… I

will spew thee out of my mouth”

Not COLD – were not totally indifferent, heart not totally hardened

Not HOT – were not overly enthusiastic about the work of the Lord

“thou art neither cold nor hot… I

will spew thee out of my mouth”

Not COLD – were not totally indifferent, heart not totally hardened

“I am only here so I will not be fined.”

Being Self- Sufficient materially leads to self-satisfaction spiritually (Rev. 3:17)

Independent – have need of nothing – why would you be on fire for the Lord?

We don’t go to EXTREMES in this church!

Complacency affected the whole church! - all

were blind of true condition

Being Self- Sufficient materially leads to self-satisfaction spiritually (Rev. 3:17)

Independent – have need of nothing – why would you be on fire for the Lord? Are you satisfied with your present spiritual

condition? (Acts 2:42, I Pet. 2:9, Titus 2:14, Eph. 4:13,

Phil. 3:10,13)

After supping with the Lord and He with you,

would you see the need to be Zealous for the

Lord?

would you see the need to be Zealous for the

Are you relishing all the dimensions of God’s love that passeth knowledge (Eph. 3:3, 14-19)

Be Zealous so you can repent and change for

the better!
