PACKING AND MARKING OF ONIONS INTENDED FOR SALE IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE REPUBUC OF SOUTH AFRICA.-AMENDMENT The Minister of Agriculture has. under the powers vested in him by section 89 of the Marketing Act. 1968 (Act 59 of 1968). made the regulations set out in the Schedule hereto. SCHEDULE 1. In this Schedule "regulations" means the regulations published by Government Notice R. 1268 of 19 June 1981. 2. SCHEDULE

1. In this Schedule "regulations" means the regulationspublished by Government Notice R. 1268 of 19 June 1981.

2. Reguldtion 4 of the regulations is hereby amended bythe substitution for subregulation (1) of the following sub-regulation:

I. By vinue of the power~ vested in me by section 1'4of the Marketing Act. 19M;(Act 59 of 1961'), I herd))'declare that the salt' by any person of onions in Area Aand grade-marked onions in Area B be forbidden-

(a) unless such onions are sold according to theclasses prescribd by regulation under section 89of the said Act, namely Class I, Class 2 and LowestClass;

(b) unless such onions are packed in a container andin a manner so prescribed;

(c) unkss such onions are marhd with particularsand in a manner so prescribed;

'':1)if such onions contain a substance so prescribed~ substance which they may not contain;

(e) if such onions are packed in a container or in amanner so prescribed as a container in which or amanner in which they may not be packed;

(f) if such onions are marked with particulc.rs orin a manner so prescribed as particulars with whichor a manner j:J \\ hich they may not be marked.

2. Furthermore I declare by virtue of the said sectionof the said Act that-
