MY NAMEMy name is Elsa. This name came from my grandmother. It was my father´s mom name. Elsa comes from hebrew, that god gives you. EL that means god and SHEBA that means the number 7 that means perfection. So that components make ELSA mean “who gives perfection to god”.

I really do like my name, I think it is original and not the same as others. There are many different names around the world. I think it is really important to have a name that you like, because it is going to be the thing that remarks you your whole life. People will know you with your name, so it is a important thing of your life. Every person asks me the same question: do you like your name? So I answer yes! I love my name.


MY NEIGHBORHOODMy neighborhood sucks. I live in a building in Molinos in Tecamachalco. My building is full of old people, or crazy people and wired families. When I go in the elevator I find different people every time. It is a strange building. One day there is a family living in a floor and next week there is another family, living in that floor.

I think that I don’t like my building because there are no kids. I have no friends to go have some fun one day or go for some coffee. I would really like to live with my best friends at the same place. For example if I lived in the same building with Yolanda, Fanny and Estrella I would be really happy. It would be the best thing that could ever happen to me. I start imagine it and I think we would have a lot of fun living together.


FAVORITE TOYS OF MY CHILDHOOD

When I was little, I loved making houses with pillows, chairs and blankets with my brother Simon. We made the “house” with a couch and with chairs around it. At the top of the chairs we put the blankets so there would be no light inside of it. We really loved doing the houses; we made them every Saturday and Sunday. We had a really good time inside because it was full of pillows, food, a phone, a little DVD to watch movies and some flashlights.

My mom and big brothers got really mad at us because we made a mess. They hated us for doing the houses. We didn´t care and keep doing them every weekend. We had a really good time and a lot of fun.


A TIME I GOT IN TROUBLE

One day when I was like 6 years old and my brother Simon had 9 we got in trouble. We had been in a fight

because we didn´t want to share a toy that my mom gave to me but Simon also wanted to use. We started fighting

and hitting so my mom got really mad at us. She grounded us. The punishment was that we couldn’t go

out of our room for the whole day.

Simon my brother was really rebel he got out of the room for 2 minutes. It was the worst thing he could do because

he was disobeying my mom. I got really mad he did that, but I didn’t accuse him with

my mom because he would be really mad at me.


A TIME I SAW SOMEONE ELSE GET IN TROUBLE

It was Friday and my whole family was at my grandmother’s home. We were all the cousins playing in

the computer room. Joaquin and Freddelle were both fighting to see who got the computer first so they could

play. They started screaming really loud her parents heard them. They were at the dinning room having some dessert. They came really fast to the computer room and saw their

kids fighting. They got mad at them so they punished them. The punishment was that they couldn’t use the

computer for one month.That was the worst thing that could happen to them. They loved playing in the computer. At first they got desperate

to use it, they used it hiding from their parents. After some time they didn´t care anymore.


A POSITIVE STORY FROM MY EXPERIENCES AT SCHOOLI have been in 4 different schools. Since I was little I had been changing schools for many reasons. I did pre-kinder in the American Montessori, then in the Hamilton I did kinder 1, 2 and also pre-first. After that year it closed for legal reasons so I had to change to the American School Foundation. I was from grade 1st till grade 6th. My mom wanted to change me to the Atid School so I came here on 7th grade. I had been here since that year.I think it has been a really good experience being in many schools because I have met a lot of people. For that reason I have many friends from different schools.I have really liked the schools I have been.


A NEGATIVE STORY FROM MY EXPERIENCES AT SCHOOLThe worst year of my life in my multiple schools was on the American School. It was in 5th grade when I had a group of friends that I loved. We were the best friends anyone could have. But one day I had a fight with one of them. Her name is Sofia. She was my closest friend I had in the group. We were fighting because we had a lot of competition. It was the worst thing that happened to me. I cried a lot because she was really mean and bad to me the rest of the year. She had a part of the group with her and I also had a part of it with me. I was really mad at her; after that I saw that she was not a good friend. Not even to trust her.I never became friends again with her.


ADVICE FROM AN ADULT

My mom, brother’s, grandparents and me were eating at my home. It was a Sunday and we didn’t want to go out to eat in a restaurant. At the table we were talking about really strong things. We commented about how people get really sick and sometimes they don’t survive. It was a strong subject because less than a month ago, my grandpa´s brother died. He had cancer. I think that my grandpa really got hurt because it was something really bad and horrible that happened. So that is when he started and told me the following advice: “The only thing you need to ask God is health, nothing else matters. Everything else comes by itself.” After that he told me: “learn that always and don’t ever forget it”.It really got into me, because I that that type of advises are the ones you should NEVER forget.

I will always remember the exact words that he told me.


A SPECIAL FAMILY MEMBER

I have two special family members; my grandmother and grandfather. They are the best thing that has happened to me. I really appreciate having them. I owe them everything I have now.When I was 7 years old my father passed away. My whole family suffered a lot; we had a really bad time. After that my grandpa’s came closer to us. They are now like my second parents. I see them every day, talk to them and tell them my day, eat with them and go visit them to their house. Every time I need something, and advice or whatever I need, they don’t think it twice. They help me as fast as they can. They are really special to me in my life. We have a great relationship and have become really close. I love them and couldn’t live without them.


A HAPPY TIME FOR ME

The happiest time I have had was when I met my 3 best friends. Yolanda, Fanny and Estrella; they are the best thing that have

happened to me.

Fanny is the best friend someone can have. She listens to me in everything I have to say, whatever problem I have she tries to help me. I

think that every time I need a person to talk to, I go to her. I owe her many things. She teaches me something new every day, I see in her a

strong women that is going to be really successful in life when she grows up.


Estrella is a girl who is different than everyone else. She is the one that has taught me a lot of things during these years we have been best friends. She taught me to be strong in every problem I have.

She taught me how to confront thing the way it should be, the right one. I have seen her get up every time she falls. To pass

every obstacle life puts me through, and move on with my life. She could be my role model, she is a great person that I can be

with and have the best time of my life.


Yolanda, she is the one I could be with my whole life. I think that she is with the one I am closer with. We can do all sort of thing together such as: talk, give advice, go for a coffee, fool around, and laugh till’ our stomach hurts. I have been getting closer to her as the years pass. She is a really nice person; I think everybody would like to have her as their best friend. Every time I need someone to be there for me, she is right there at the second I need.

I thank God for giving me this friends that I can call my sisters.I really appreciate having my 3 close and best friends. Someone once told me, your true friends can only be count with one hand. And it is true.


GOING TO WORKWhen I was little, my cousins Sarah and Freddelle and me

went very often to work with Sarah’s dad. Almost all Fridays were the days we went. My uncle Sammy always received us with a smile in his face. He loved to have us

there “working”. I remember that we just did silly thing. We wrote the things we thought were important, arranged

things, get well organized the desks and many more things.

It was really fin going because when we got out of the factory my uncle took us for ice cream.

After going for ice cream we went to my grandmas house. We went for dinner and talk about “our day at the office”.

It was a really fun time in my life.


A SPECIAL HOLIDAY

Last year, was my grandpa’s 50th anniversary. They wanted to celebrate their “gold wedding” marrying again. They threw a big, big party. The preparations for the wedding were 3 months earlier so we were really rushed to get it perfect. The whole family put their cooperation for the party. We all participated and tried to put a lot of effort on it. Going to buy a dress, new shoes, the make up, my hair, my nails and every thing else was really complicated. I bought a really nice dress and really nice shoes. On June 19, 2011 was the celebration. We had all their friends invited to celebrate them, some of my friends and many more people. I had very good time in the party with all my family.


A SPECIAL B-DAYWhen I turned 16, I had a really good birthday party. I invited all my friends to my house to eat. My mom made a lot of food for us. She made sushi, salad, rice, pasta, fish and vegetables. The food was really good we finished it all. After eating we had a really nice time. My friends sang to me happy birthday, we ate cake and laughed all day. All my friends came to celebrate me and have a good time at my home. My mom gave me a lot of presents and my grandma also. I thing it was one of my favorite birthdays I have had. I would love to repeat that birthday to have the best time ever with all my friends.


MY BIRTHI was born in March 6th, 1996. My mom had the delivery at the

hospital ABC from Observatiorio. My mom waited for me since she married my dad. She really wanted to have a girl that was her daughter. First she had my brother Beto, then Moises

and then Simon. She wanted a lot a girl so she got pregnant again.

When she went to the doctor to see if I was a girl or a boy, she already knew I was a girl. To make it more suspense, she told my dad I was a boy. My dad was really happy; he bought all the presents for the brit-milah and everything else. But then at the

hospital, he got the surprise that I was a girl. My mom started crying from all the happiness she had. She

loves me and I love her with all my heart.


BEING JEWISH AND LIVING IN MEXICO

Being Jewish is one of the things I am really proud of. I think it is one of the most important thing there are, having someone to identify you. In Mexico, the Jewish community is very big. There are many people inside of it. It is really nice to have a community like the one there is in Mexico. Because you can meet a lot of people that are the same as you, have the same traditions and the same beliefs. I like a lot being Jewish I think it is one of the greatest thing I have in my life. That is why I am like I am, and I have the family that I have. It is the great thing that me and my family has, being Jewish.
