PARTY TIME The Rabbits held their popular Annual Christmas Carol Party on Saturday 17th December at the Clubhouse with nearly eighty members, partners and friends all in festive mood to enjoy singing much loved Christmas carols and listening to Alan Turner singing well known Chritmassy songs. Mince pies and sherry were on each table to fortify and lubricate the larynxes and activity was provided by rounds of Heads and Tails and Irish Bingo. Peter Hepworth’s wife winning the H and T for the second time in two years is popular with her table mates as each time she has shared the prize around. Last time it was Quality Street sweeties this time a bottle of Prosecco which

was appreciated by Ray Black among others. A great raffle was held with lots of super prizes much appreciated by Ladies Section members who walked away with many of them. Did the member who paid in coppers including foreign coins think she got good value for money we wonder? The traditional performance of Mike Lynes leading the revellers, table

by table, in the singing (or Shouting) of the The Twelve Days of Christmas went down well with the usual riot of people bobbing up and down, not always at the right time. In the absence of the Rabbits Captain, Vice-captain, Mike

Fever and Phil Leadbetter with other members of the Rabbits Committee organised the evening which seemed to be enjoyed by everyone attending. The evening concluded with dancing to Alan Turner who was backed at various times by what seemed like the Huddersfield Choral Society. Glen Miller’s Orchestra and the Strictly Come Dancing band. Tats Christmas Conpetition & Brunch The Tuesday and Thursday Section (TATS) held their Christmas competition on Tuesday 13th December in good conditions followed by a Brunch in the Clubhouse. There were fifty six entries including the Nine Holers who sat down to a tasty all day breakfast provided by Team Bradley and were treated by a visit from Father Christmas who gave everyone a present of two golf balls, There were plenty of prizes so all went home happy after a pleasant morning’s work, Garry Burns organised this event once again, putting a lot of work and effort into it all, only to be called away at the last moment, He was thanked profusely for his part in making sure it was a successful day. Winners of the competition were Phil Leadbetter, Jeff Coupe, Peter Mann and Kevin Coleman with a score of 94, second were David Green, Mike Fever, Jim Burke and Mike Lynes.
