No.55 Outline Anticorrosion polyethylene tape NO.55 Developed for prevention of corrosion and protection of various types of pipelines. It consists of a polyethylene film and high chemical resistance and a self-fusing type adhesive layer. Using polyethylene with excellent electrical property and chemical resistance as base material together with thick-coated synthetic butyl rubber-base adhesive, it brings out superior durability and anticorrosion property. A tape-wrapped (50mmφ) steel pipe is immersed in 3% saline solution and the change of insulation resistance with time was measured.
