The Spanner ManAnyone fancy taking on this kind of creative stuff??? Where in the world does he get all those spanners???This guy must go to every garage sale in the country.Retired Helicopter Mechanic. How cool is this guy?John Piccoli lives near Boort in Northern Victoria and does it all by himself - from a wheel chair! So, Don't ever be afraid to follow your dreams!!!Here is what he starts with.

Brain Games. Here's another  trick of Doctor Dementia to test your skills...Can you meet this challenge? I've seen this with the letters out of order, but this is the first time I've seen it with numbers. Good example of a Brain Study: If you can read this OUT LOUD you have a strong mind. And better than that: Alzheimer's is a long long, way down the road before it ever gets anywhere near you. 7H15 M3554G3 53RV35 7O PR0V3 H0W 0UR M1ND5 C4N D0 4M4Z1NG 7H1NG5! 1MPR3551V3 7H1NG5! 1N 7H3 B3G1NN1NG 17 WA5 H4RD BU7 N0W, 0N 7H15 LIN3 Y0UR M1ND 1S R34D1NG 174U70M471C4LLY W17H 0U7 3V3N 7H1NK1NG 4B0U7 17, B3 PROUD! 0NLY C3R741N P30PL3 C4NR3AD 7H15. From the OverseersWaste. The waste bin is not for the disposal of members personal waste. Particularly metal and motor vehicle used parts.Liquids are never to be disposed of in the waste bin. We are paying for dry waste disposal only. If the waste is found to have liquids, it will double the cost to the shed. All left over liquids need to taken home with the member especially paints, motor oils and lubricants.Clean up time is All the time !!When leaving the shed please put equipment away where it came from. Too often there are pieces of  equipment being left  lying around; eg. Drill bits should be removed from drill presses and put away, Router bits, hand tools, etc etc are to be returned to the correct storage spots. Please clean up your work area both the bench and immediate work area.Equipment use.If you are not sure how to  operate any piece of  equipment  please ask. Bob Grocke, Tony Brown and George Klug in particular are only too willing to help members upskill themselves. Paul Whitehead is happy to help members familiarise themselves in the wood turning area.  Barry Gibson is an expert at cleaning. The supervisors are considering running some specialised training courses for members, please feel free talk to one of the above about your needs. Eg Sharpening, domino use etc etc

Season’s greetings to all.

James Campbells creative vice. The vice is designed to be able hold material at any angle. The ‘bowling Ball is moved to the desired angle and locked. Then the work is clamped in the vice touted to the bowling ball. James’s vice was put together in just one day at the shed.James found the concept on  ‘Pinterest” and added his own creative genius to the design. For members who haven’t visited the Pinterest site, it is a wonderful site for creative ideas. One of those sites, one can easily lose an hour or two of your day at!!Inspirational James, Well done. You can have One(only) of George’s shortbread biscuits next month.

Message From The President.

Hello Shedders. With a membership of 260, there are many of you I have not met or only briefly, so I thought that I would bring all of you up to speed on Shed happenings that have been in this past year.We lost three or our members during the year. Brian Millmore was a valuable contributor  to the Shed  and a past President. David Bowman was our inaugural Shed Boss and responsible for early Shed management and set the tone for us to follow. Jaust de Haan showed his prowess in the kitchen. The woodwork section of the Shed is now complete with a comprehensive array of machinery including a very good , although noisy dust extraction system. However we have been stretched at times coping with various shed income jobs and would welcome more Shedders to be involved in this area. There are other groups which include playing cards, looking after bees, learning to cook, photography, vintage vehicle restoration and music. The Shed was involved in the Town Community Fair, we conducted two home maintenance courses  and will run more in 2019. We continue with maintenance of the Russel Brown adventure park and this continues to be enjoyed by many young families. The third Wednesday in each month we have talks with excellent speakers and thanks go to Vic Power for organising these. We have good attendances at these but would love to see more Shedders attending. Our Annual Craft Fair held in November puts us in the public eye and is our main income earner for the year. The committee has expressed the view that this event should continue and for this to happen we require more support  from ALL members, most of which is needed on the actual day. Since its inception the Craft Day has been well received by stall holders and well run by Mike Ansell who has done a great job. Mike has requested a well  earned break and so we are looking for a willing person to look after the early bookings and a small amount of office work.It was great to see all our regulars at our Christmas party and thanks to Bob and David and their willing helpers for their work and the food was enjoyed by all. All the committee wish you all a very happy Christmas and a healthy New Year. George Klug    { President ]

NewsletterMy sincere thanks to all who have provided material for me to use in the Newsletter over the year. Without contributing from Members there would be no newsletter as I can’t always be around to take photographs, know what is going on or be on top of all Shed activities. If you are out and about over the coming weeks and have stories to tell, photos to share then I will be very happy to get any material suitable for the Newsletter when yo send it to me.Not sure if there will be a January edition as the festive season keeps people away from their usual pursuits so I wish all a happy and safe festive season and will be back on the news desk whenever it is time to get another Newsletter together.Jamie.
