PassiveVentilationDue to the uniqueness of the technology, panels can bedesigned with passive ventilation in mind in order todissipateheat,renewambientairandtoevacuategasleaks.SonobexhasengineeredarangeofattenuatingNoiseTrap®panels that allow air to pass through the apertures whilstreducingthenoisetransmissiontotheenvironment.NoiseTrap® panels can be incorporated into a fullyventilated acoustic enclosure, in some cases removing theneedforforcedventilation.Freestandingbarrierscanbenefitfromreducedwindloads,loweringfoundationandinstallationcosts.
NoAcousticInfillConventionalsolutionstypicallycontainabsorptivematerialsto achieve adequate levels of noise reduction, but havelimitedlowfrequencyperformance. Infillmaterialstypicallydegrade due to contamination and ingress of water,reducingacousticperformanceovertheirlifetime.A NoiseTrap® panel is a completely galvanized steelconstruction that consists of coupled resonator elementsthat attenuate airborne noise; as such a NoiseTrap® panelhasnoacousticinfilltoprovideacousticperformance.An infill freepanel thereforemaintainsconsistent through-lifeperformance compared to traditional solutionswithnodegradationofacousticperformanceovertime.NoiseTrap®panelscanbeusedwherethereistobenoriskoffibremigrationorcontaminationsuchasfoodproductionplantsandhospitalenvironments.Thecompleteabsenceofinfill also facilitates ease of cleaning and drainage,makingNoiseTrap® panels well-suited for chemical plants,refineries,andfacilitieshandlinghazardousmaterials.
