Slippers Biscotte’s version
Alternative version of Yuko Nakamura « Non-felted slippers » by Louise Robert
Translated and adapted by Louise Robert for Biscotte & Cie Inc. according to Yuko Nakamura original « Non-felted slippers » version - Copyright © 2013 www.biscottecie.com p. 1
You will need :
114 gr of Biscotte & Cie hand-dyed
yarn GOBELIN
(illustration colourway : sole
« Sorbet » and instep « Bonbon »).
Circular needle 5.5 mm (or size
needed to obtain gauge), lenght
of cable : 100 cm and +.
Adult one size : since these
slippers are very stretchy, they fit
on a size 5 and stretch up to size
11 (woman US size)
Gauge : 14 m = 10 cm knitted with double thread.
This pattern is inspired from the original design « Non-felted slippers » by
Yuko Nakamura. I love this pattern : the original model is knitted back and
forth and must be sewed under the sole and on the heel back. Here is a
revised version that is worked in the round !
La Biscotte qui tricote !!
Sole
The sole is worked in the round with garter stitch. With sole colourway,
use the magic, figure 8 or turkish method to cast-on 50 sts (25 sts on each
side).
Alternate the following two rounds until you get 74 sts (37 on both side)
Regular round : purl
Increased round : *k1, m1, knit until 1 st remain on first side, m1, k1*
Repeat from * to * on the second side.
Feet brim
Change for feet colourway and continue to work in the round as follow :
Round 1 and 2 : knit.
Round 3 : k26, SSK x 2, k3tog, k8 end, sl2, k1, pass the slipped sts over,
k2tog x 2, k26.
Round 4 : knit.
Round 5 : k22, SSK x 2, k3tog, k8 end, sl2, k1, pass the slipped sts over,
k2tog x 2, k22.
Round 6 : knit.
Top of feet
This part is knitted back and forth in short rows as follow :
Row 1 (right side) : k33, ssk, turn.
Row 2 (wrong side) : sl1, p8, k2tog, turn.
Row 3 : sl1, k8, ssk, turn.
Row 4 : sl1, p8, k2tog, turn.
Rows 5 to 20 : as rows 3 and 4.
Row 21 : sl1, k8, ssk, (do not turn) k13. You are now back at the begining
of a new round (37 sts).
Knit a last round : k13, ssk, knit until the end of round (36 sts).
Ankle border.
With the sole colourway, knit one round, purl one round than bind off.
Weave in the ends and knit the second slipper !!
ABBREVIATIONS
st = stitch k = knit p = purl sl = slip
SSK = slip, slip, knit. M1 = make one stitch (increase) Tog = together (decrease)
