June has been a month of ministry. VBS was a phenomenal week of teaching kids about the

love of God. Hundreds of hours went into the preparation and carrying out VBS. What a

blessing to see so many involved in ministry.

Over 60 young people traveled to Falls Creek for a week of fun and spiritual inspiration.

Four made professions of faith in Christ, seven rededicated their lives to the Lord, and 14

made decisions to pursue God’s call to vocational ministry. That is amazing! Will you join

me in praying for all of our teenagers as they develop their understanding of who God is and

who He wants them to be.

Five of our church family traveled to Latvia. They were primarily involved in running an or-

phan camp for kids from all over the country. Kids that have been discarded in their society

were able to experience the love of Christ. Thirty decisions were made by the kids during

that week.

The third annual Great Days of Service took place the last week-end of June. Churches, civic

organizations and individuals came together to help many in our community who had needs.

Trees cut down, wheel chair ramps built, roofs repaired, lawns cleaned up, and many more

services were all performed that show the love of Christ in practical ways to our community.

The last week of July will see about 20 of our family of faith going to Chiapas, Mexico. We

will be conducting Bible Clubs in different villages each day. This year we are excited to have

the opportunity to build a house for one of the village pastors. Your faithful giving and our

dedication to missions has allowed us to provide $8,000 to buy the materials to build this

new house. What an indescribable joy to be able to be a blessing to this pastor and his family.

Our most recent sermon series has led us through the book of Malachi. In the third chapter

of that Old Testament book the prophet speaks on behalf of God saying, “I the Lord do not

change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Ever since the time of your fore-

fathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I

will return to you, says the Lord Almighty.”

As you honestly evaluate your life, are there some things you need to change in order to

return to the relationship God wants to have with you? His love never fails. But a holy God

will not tolerate sin in your life. Take a mid-year self-evaluation. Determine to submit your

life wholly to the Lord.

Standing on the premises (I mean promises)

It is a great feeling to be a Christian, to be able to have peace and joy in the

midst of all situations.

Do we really trust God at this point? Do we really believe that His promises

are true? Re-read Philippians 4:4-7. Meditate on it (focused thinking), dive

in, trust with all your heart the concept that God is enough to give you

peace and joy. We know that these promises are true, not because Paul said

it, but because Paul lived and experienced it. It takes determination to

stand on scripture. You can choose to stand on the promises or stand on

your own understanding. Which will you choose? God will help you trust in

his promises. Come on—you can do it!!
