∗ Non-verbal communication is a system of symbolic behaviors that includes all forms of communication excepts words.

∗ In other word, Nonverbal communication is the process of communication through sending and receiving wordless (mostly visual) cues between people.

∗ Nonverbal communication plays a crucial role on communication.

∗ It represents two-thirds of all communication.

∗ According to surveys, Verbal components of face-to-face conversation is less than 35%, 65% of communication is done non-verbally.

There are 5 types of non-verbal communication

1. Kinesics

∗ It is nonverbal behavior related to movement of any part of the body or the body as a whole such as: eye contact, facial expression, emotions, gesture, posture, etc

Examples for kinesics

thing.

∗ In this picture, his head is tilted.∗ Both palms are open.∗ Both are sign of openness.

2. Paralanguage

∗ Paralanguage is communication through nonverbal sounds and it conveys emotions and attitudes such as: pitch, volume, rate, quality, intonation, etc

∗ To make it clear, we can compare paralanguage in different emotions.
