ANNUAL LICENSES FOR ADULTS
CURFEW HOURSFishing is not allowed more than half an hour before sunrise, nor more than half an hour after sunset, with the exception of night fishing for carp on a certain part of the Public Fluvial Domain (PFD) and in certain bodies of water, under the conditions laid down by prefectoral order, to be consulted on the site of the Préfecture du Nord. However, from half an hour after sunset until half an hour before sunrise, no carp caught by amateur fishers using lines can be kept in captivity or transported. For reasons relating to noise disturbance, the use of sound detectors is prohibited from half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise within 50m of residences.FISHING ON THE PUBLIC FLUVIAL DOMAIN (PFD):Fishing is prohibited on industrial rights-of-way. Both day and night fishing in the PFD is prohibited on bridges, drawbridges, water decks, footbridges, locks, hydraulic works, wharves, ports and harbours. Day and night fishing is also forbidden at a distance of 50m upstream and downstream of the dams and locks and in the areas delimited by a barrier or fence by the managers of the aforementioned works. Night fishing for carp is prohibited on places of unloading, docking and lockage for boats, as well as in all backwaters and discharge arms. The use of biwys on the territories of the PFD must have received prior authorization issued by the territorial management of the Voies Navigables de France (VNF).

FAMILY MARKED COURSES
ValJoly Lake: N 50°07’10.2 E 4°08’08.0 (59132 Eppe-Sauvage)A large lake suitable for fun and easy fishing on a welcoming site with many facilities (shelters, picnic tables, toilets, decks, etc.), offering a variety of activities (hiking, swimming pool, aquarium, water base, etc.).
Nord department has two “fishing accomodations” that combine a personalized welcome for fishers and high-quality adapted services (sale of fishing licenses, equipment rental, advice, etc.), in close proximity to excellent fishing sites.
With their fishing license, fishers can access all the lines of the affiliated fishing association to which s/he belongs. Reciprocity is the sharing of fish lots to simplify the formalities of membership and to offer a larger fishing territory, at the following levels:
Reciprocity is offered to you if you hold a "weekly" license, a "minor" license (12-18 years old), a "12-year-old discovery” license or a
"women's discovery" license!
URNE INTERFEDERAL LICENSE
All the advantages of the “Adult” departmental license, with additional fishing in 90 other departments.
Purchasing the URNE option is possible for the price of 30 euros, in addition to an “Adult” license, paid for in a reciprocal AAPPMA, meaning the license costs 105 euros (75+30).
DEPARTMENTAL LICENSE
All holders of a fishing license (except day license) can fish on the department’s 66 AAPPMA reciprocal lots, as well as the federal lakes, and may fish for carp at any time.
They may use a rod in grade 2 public rivers, anywhere in France.

It contributes to financing monitoring and protection actions for aquatic ecosystems and populations, as well as the implementation of actions for developing and promoting fishing. Using some facts and figures, the Federation explains to you how “fishers’ money” is used. In other words, how the funds from the federal label are used. (Provided on 10th

Every year, the Federation carries out field operations to support protection of the environment and aquatic habitats. This is financially supported by its institutional partners (the Artois-Picardie Water Agency, the Hauts-de-France Region, etc.) and is accompanied by specialized companies, who are experts in the technical implementation of projects. In recent years, the Federation and the company "Forêts et Paysages” have carried out the following work:
In July 1991, Dominique Gorisse, the current president of the companies "Forêts et Paysages" and " Arbres Plus", commenced activities aimed at managing trees and waterways. Wherever they are and whatever their form, all trees need to be monitored. Sometimes this involves felling, but most of all it is about accompanying their growth and replanting.
We provide our services in the fields of forestry and landscaping. Clearing, deforestation and felling dangerous trees (ENEDIS SNCF, VNF, etc.). Management and maintenance of forests, the size of trees and plantations.
But also work on management of wetlands and waterways, as illustrated by the adjacent photos: Management of riparian forests and the fight against invasive vegetation (Japanese knotweed, balsam, etc.). Restoration of the ecological continuum (creation of a diversion arm, levelling works, creation of flooded threshold, etc.). Restoration of waterways (shrinking of flood stage, remeandering waterways, creation of fish refuges, alluvial replenishment, etc.). Restoration using civil engineering, ecological engineering or combined techniques (braiding, use of fascines, creation of helophyte shores, riprap, comb, etc.). Developments for welcoming the public (fishing decks, landscape planning in the town centre, etc.). Fight against floods (removal of logjams, etc.).
The group is continuously growing by increasing the number of employees. We continuously provide our staff with training. But also by welcoming trainees and investing in high-performance equipment, adapted to different markets and customer needs.

Differences :
Barbel
In many white waters (mostly present in Helpe Majeure, Helpe Mineure and Sambre), the barbel is an aggressive fish very popular in sports fishing, because it
gives a powerful, determined fight. You can fish it using lead sinkers, long-range casting, etc.
Carp
Carp fishing has an unbeatable place in leisure fishing. It is the only technique that can be practised both by day
and by night, in the public fluvial domain and the lakes included in the prefectural decree. The Nord department has one of the largest lines for carp fishing at night, along its 400km of waterways spread across the department. So come to try your hand at carp fishing – all while respecting the regulations and other users, of course! Pike
Nicknamed "the king of fish", pike is one of the species most sought after by fishers seeking carnivorous fish.
A fish that can measure up to one metre and weigh more than twenty kilos, it is present in all the channels of Nord, from the coast to La Sambre. If you're looking for excitement, head to the water’s edge and to see if you measure up to “the beast”... guaranteed adrenaline rush!

1st fish categoryIt includes rivers, bodies of water and lakes mainly populated with trout, as well as those where it seems desirable to provide special protection for fish of this species (dominant salmonids).
2st fish categoryIt includes all other waterways, canals and bodies of water (cyprinids or carnivores, pikes, zanders, dominant fish).
Private domainThe private domain includes the rivers or bodies of water for which the right to fish belongs to a private owner. It is necessary to obtain their agreement to go fishing here.
The Federation and the AAPPMAs are working to recover these rights.
Public domainThe public domain is composed of the banks of waterways that are the property of the State (Voies Navigables de France).
This institution leases its fishing rights to the Federation, which graciously returns them to the relevant AAPPPMAs, according to their geographic proximity.
Brown trout
Did you know that Nord department is brimming with superb rivers for trout fishing (especially La Selle)? Brown trout fishing is a noble, technical type of fishing.
Come to (re)discover this emblematic species for an intense round of fishing. The secret of great fishers? Being familiar with the river and the habits of their “opponent”.
