North Anna LADTAP II Calculations - Biota Purpose: Use LADTAP II code (Strenge et al 1986) and input parameters supplied by the Applicant as part of their Early Site Permit Environmental Report (Dominion 2003) to estimate doses to the biota. Then compare these estimates to those performed by the Applicant and to 40 CFR Part 190. Scope: Doses to the biota both terrestrial and aquatic will be calculated using LADTAP II code. Aquatic biota includes fish, invertebrate, and algae. Terrestrial biota includes muskrat, raccoon, heron, and duck. The code calculates an internal dose component and external dose component and sums them for a total body dose. [In running LADTAP the following issues are important: 1) in the source term card make sure RF is blank, 2) don't want any entries under the ALARA analysis, 3) under "biota exposure" need to enter those locations for the calculations along with specific dispersion data for that location. No biota parameters (i.e, shoreline exposure, swimming exposure, food intake, body mass, etc) need to be entered they are already in the code] The input parameters used by the Applicant will be reviewed for appropriateness. If appropriate they will be used as inputs into LADTAPII for the staff's independent calculation. Default values from Regulatory Guide 1.109 or NUREG/CR-4013 (Strenge et al 1986) will be used when input parameters are not available or the Applicant's parameter are determined not be appropriate. North Anna LADTAP II Calculations - Biota
