W HEREAS by Section 3 of " The Early Closing Act, 1902," the Governor may by l'roclamation abolish any Shop District, except the Metropolitan Shop District, and may by Proclamation declare any Electoral Dis-trict to he a Shop District for the purposes of the said Act: Now therefore 1, the said Governor, do with the advice of the Executive Council hereby abolish the Shop District of Geraldtou proclaimed and gazetted in the Oacentnient Garotte on the 19th day of February, 1904, and declare in lieu thereof the Geraldtou Electoral Dis-trict to he a Shop District for the purposes of the said Act.

WHEREAS by Section 43 of "The Land Act, 1898," it is niarle lawful for the Governor, by Order in Coun-cil, without issuing any deed of grant to place any Reserve under the control of any Municipality, Roads :Board, or other person or persons, as a Board of Man-agement, and to empower such Board to make, repeal, and alter by-laws for the control and management of such reserves, and prescribe fees for depasturing thereon, and for other purposes, such by-laws to be approved by the GoVernor and published in the Government Gazette: And whereas it is deemed expedient that -Reserve 8350 (Crown) for "AVater" at Rushy Gully, Victoria Dis-trict, should be placed under the control of the Upper Chapman Road Board as a Board of Management: Now,

therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by aud with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby place the before-mentioned reserve under the control of the Upper Chapman Road Board for the pur-pose aforesaid as a Board of Management, and cloth empower such Board to make, repeal, or alter by-laws for the control and management of the said reserve, for prescribing fees for depasturing thereon, for direct-ing the manner in which such fees shall be imposed, paid, collected, and disposed of, aud to impose penalties not exceeding in any ease £5 for any breach thereof, and £2 a day for a continuing breach, but not more than £20 in the aggregate.

HIS Excellency the Governor in Executive Council, under the powers conferred by Section 161 of "The Land Act, 1898," has been pleased to amend Form No. 5 of the Timber Regulations to read as follows:—

FORM No. 5.

The Land diet, 1898, and the Land Act Amendment Act, 1904.

Saw-Milling Permit. No. Division.

Plan District. His Excellency the Governor, with the advice and con-sent of the Executive Council, and in exercise of the power conferred by Section 11 of "The Land Act Amendment Act, 1904," hereby grants to of the sole right of cutting timber over the area described in the schedule hereto.

This Permit shall, unless forfeited in the meantime, continue in force (1) (2) and is granted subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1898," and "The Land Act Amendment Act, 1904," applicable thereto, and to the regulations there-under in force for the time being, and to the payment of the prescribed license fees and royalties and also to the following conditions, viz.:—That the holder of this permit (3) (4) shall, during the currency of this permit, maintain such plant in working order. And that the fight is reserved to the Crown, at any time during the continuance of this Permit, to sell, lease, or other-wise dispose of any Crown land within the area of this Permit which in the opinion of the Minister has been denuded of marketable timber or timber likely to de-velop into marketable timber.

THE ROADS ACT, 1911. Uniform General By-law for preventing poison being

laid on roads or watering-places within the Wynd-ham and Ball's Creek Road Districts.

WHEREAS under Section 180 of "The Roads Act. 1911," it is provided that the Governor may make and publish in the Government Gazette Uniform General By-laws, and may prescribe the Road Districts in which such By-laws shall have the force of law: Now, there-fore, His Excellency the Governor of the State of West-on Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, (loth hereby make and publish the following By-law:—

250. No person shall lay, deposit, or place, or cause to be laid. deposited, or placed, on any road or at or within one mile of any Water Reserve, Well, Tank, or other watering-place, any poison, poisoned bait, or other like matter injurious to live stock.

Every person guilty of an offence against this By-law shall for every such offence be liable to a penalty not exceeding Twenty pounds.

This By-law shall have the force of law within the boundaries of the following Road Districts, viz.:—The Road Districts of Wyndham and Hall's Creek.
