Welcome Back to School!
August 2017 North Vermillion Jr Sr High School
North Vermillion Jr Sr High School welcomed
students back on Aug. 8, 2017.
We have had a great start to the 2017 – 2018
school year and are
excited to see what
this year has in store
for us.
There will be several new and a couple of familiar
faces in the building this year.
New to the building will be Mr. Kyle Shay, our
Assistant Principal. Mrs. Crystal Minnick will be the
Jr. High Guidance Counselor, and Mrs. Christian Crum
will be in the Jr high Special Needs classroom.
Mr. Terry Naylor and Mr. Bill Woodard will be moving
to the high school from the elementary. Mr. Naylor
will be teaching Jr. High Math. Mr. Woodard will be
in the high school Special Needs classroom. Mrs.
Debbie Chew will be returning to NVHS to teach
Math. Joining her in the Math department is Maris
Clark.
We would like to welcome all of our new additions
and wish them a great year at North Vermillion Jr Sr
High School.

Blood Drive There will be a blood drive on Aug. 23 from 8 – 12:00. Those 16 and under will need to have a permission form signed. Sign up sheet is in the front office.
We are pleased to announce the water project has been completed. We would
like to thank everyone for being patient during this process. This was a huge
undertaking which involved many. We would like to thank everyone who had a
part in this process. A special thank you the town of Cayuga for all of your
assistance.

Falcon Football Wins Colts Leadership Challenge Again Recently, NV football sponsored the Colts Leadership Blood Drive and for the fourth year straight. We had the largest percentage of participation with 27.9% participation. We have shown growth each year in the drive’s participation. The Falcons’ 2017 had a total of 83 presenting donors products which provides 179 patients with a life-giving gift! Our players truly demonstrated their leadership and commitment to the Indiana Blood Center’s life-saving mission. Thanks to EVERYONE who helped coordinate, recruit and DONATE. It takes everyone! It is a great day to be a Falcon!!!
News from the Athletic Department Fall Sport: *Junior High Athletics sign ups were on the first day of school during lunch. Jr. High Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Cheer Jr. High Football Equipment issues for Jr. High Football were Aug. 9 after school. Practice started Aug. 10, after school. Jr High Cross Country Practice information was given out at the meeting and will start the 2nd week of school Jr High Volleyball Practice information was given out at the meeting (Jr Hi Volleyball will practice in the morning 6:30-7:30am) Jr. High Cheer Should have practice schedules. *Before student athletes may participate in practice they must have an updated physical form (after April 1st of 2017) on file with the Athletic department. *Jr High Athletic pictures will be after school on Aug 29 after school. **Clothing order forms with money must be turned into Athletic Department, Noon Aug 16th. There is an order form included in the newsletter. It is a Great day to be a FALCON!!!!!
