How to Enter Read the Terms and Conditions of Entry. It is assumed the Entrant has read and accepted the terms and conditions upon entry into the exhibition. 1. How to Enter

Read the Terms and Conditions of Entry. It is assumed the Entrant has read and accepted the terms and conditions upon entry into the exhibition.

There is a limit of three entries per artist across all categories. A maximum of one artwork per artist will be selected for inclusion in the exhibition, and the same artwork cannot be entered into more than one category. A separate entry form and fee is required for each submission.

Please complete the online entry form via Northern Beaches Council website, northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au. You will receive an email confirmation of your online entry. 6. Photos of Artwork

Your selection for Round 2 is based on these images, so ensure they are clear and true!

Supporting images of your artwork must comply with the following:

• Minimum of 1 image and Maximum 3 images.

• File type must be either: gif; jpg; jpeg; or png and amaximum file size of 5 MB.

• You need to save images with your name (first, last) andartwork title.

7. Copyright

Northern Beaches Council reserves the right to photograph artworks selected in the exhibition for the purpose of documentation, publicity and promotion of the exhibition inclusive of a print media at the discretion of the organisers, to be included in the exhibition catalogue(s) and to be posted on Northern Beaches Council website and social media. Northern Beaches Council will use its best endeavour to maintain of the integrity of the work and credit the artist when possible.

8. Privacy

The personal details requested will only be used for the purpose of processing registration, keeping records and establishing identity in accordance with Northern Beaches Council’s Privacy Management Plan (June 2000). Access to the information is restricted to Northern Beaches Council officers and other authorised people only.

9. Exhibition Selection

Professional curators will select successful artworks for display in the exhibition. There are three rounds of selection:

Round 1: Online submission photos are reviewed by the curators. Entry deadline is 5pm AEST Monday 24 June 2019.

Round 2: Artworks are selected to be delivered to the Creative Space gallery, 105 Abbott Rd, North Curl Curl, to be viewed in person by the curators, and to be weighed and measured.

Successful artworks selected for Round 2 will be listed on Council’s website HERE from midday on Tuesday, 16 July 2019. Successful artwork entrants will not be notified in writing.

Selection to Round 2 means that the curators would like to see the selected artwork in person and check the measurements and weight of the artwork are within the limitations. Please note that not all artworks selected for Round 2 will be included in the exhibition.

Round 3 (exhibition selection): Artworks seen in person by the curators are chosen to be successfully displayed in the gallery for the Northern Beaches Art Prize finalist’s exhibition.

Artists selected for Round 3 will have their artwork displayed in the Northern Beaches Art Prize finalist’s exhibition. The successful entrants will be notified by email by midday Tuesday 6 August 2019.

10. Judging

A panel of independent judges will assess the successfully selected artworks in the exhibition and allocate the awards for each category. Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners will be announced at the Opening Night awards presentation.

11. Labels and Requirements for Display of Work

Each work should have an information label attached to the back of the work with the artists name, phone number and title of work, the category into which it is entered and the sale price where applicable.

All artwork that is to be hung must be mounted and/or framed and have D-Ring devices attached 3cm or 4cm below the top edge at the back of the work and must not exceed weight restriction of 15kg. Strings and cords must be removed from the back of works.

Northern Beaches Council reserves the right to reject unsuitably prepared works including wet, dangerous or delicate works.

12. Delivery of Work

General and Small Sculpture categories:

Round 2 artworks must be delivered to the Creative Space on Sunday 4 August 2019 between 2 - 6pm.

A family member or friend is permitted to deliver the work on artist’s behalf.

If your work needs to be couriered to the Creative Space, please contact the organiser directly. Delivery and return will be at the artist’s expense.

The Curator has the right to refuse or reject artworks if they feel any information included in the registration/ entry process, including submitted images of work, was in any way misleading or an inaccurate representation of the artwork.

The curator’s decision is final and no subsequent discussion or correspondence will be permitted.

All artworks selected must remain on show for the duration of the exhibition.

Any packaging material must be removed after delivery as there are no facilities for storage.

13. Care and Responsibility

Northern Beaches Council will exercise all reasonable care with the works submitted but will not be responsible for any loss, theft or damage while in its custody or in transit. Insurance is the responsibility of the exhibitor.

14. Sale of Artworks

Exhibited artists may choose to sell their works. The price of your work at the time of entry will be published in the exhibition catalogue.

Northern Beaches Council does not deduct any commission from artwork sales and will provide prospective buyers with direct contact of the artists.

15. Collection of Artworks

All artworks selected must remain on show for the duration of the exhibition.

General and Small Sculpture categories: Exhibited artists must be able to collect their work from the Creative Space, 105 Abbott Rd, North Curl Curl on Sunday 18 August between 3 - 5pm (following the presentation of People’s Choice award).

A family member or friend is permitted to collect the work on artist’s behalf but must be able to show receipt of entry or the artists must have notified council staff.

Failure to collect work on time will incur a storage fee of $25 per day.

16. Awards & Prizes

Award categories will be published on the Northern Beaches Council website northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au

All prizes will be awarded on the advice of the judges, with the exception of the People’s Choice Awards. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. The People’s Choice Awards will be chosen by public vote throughout the exhibition period.

Exhibited artists will receive an invitation to attend the Opening Night on Thursday 8 August. Award winners will be announced and presented with their prizes at the Opening Night. Exhibited artists will also receive an invitation to attend the People’s Choice Award Presentation on the final day of the exhibition, Sunday 18 August.

The names of winners and title of artwork will be published on Northern Beaches Council’s website following the announcement at the Opening Night awards.
