Hazelton protestors say ‘no’ to LNG plansBy Alicia BridgesTHE NORTHERN CONNECTOR
NEW HAZELTON - Gitxsan he-reditary chiefs from the Spookw and Luutkudziiwus groups led a blockade of Highway 16 in New Hazelton last Saturday, Dec. 6 to protest environmental approvals issued by the provincial govern-ment for three LNG projects in northern B.C.
More than 50 people, some wearing traditional Gitxsan but-ton blankets, gathered outside the Skeena Bakery with banners and signs before blockading the high-way at about 2 p.m. that day.
New Hazelton RCMP Corp. Robert Donovan said the block-ade, which lasted about 10 min-utes, had minimal impact on highway traffic because most motorists were able to make their way around the protest.
He said the protestors were
peaceful and responded to RCMP requests to clear the high-way.
Spookw chiefs said the blockade was held to send a mes-sage to the provincial govern-ment that they oppose LNG de-velopments on their territories.
The B.C. Environmental As-sessment Office last month is-sued environmental assessment certificates to the Westcoast Con-nector Gas Transmission pipe-line, the Pacific NorthWest LNG export facility on Lelu Island south of Prince Rupert, and the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission pipeline.
Chiefs said all land access to industrial projects west of New Hazelton must pass through their territory, and that their opposi-tion to the LNG projects was non-negotiable.
Hereditary chief Guuhadak-wa (Norm Stephens) said he op-
posed the developments because of the potential impacts on salm-on populations in the Skeena es-tuary.
“The importance of the salm-on to the Gitxsan people far out-weighs any of the financial ben-efits that are and may be offered in the future for these LNG pipe-lines,” he said.
“The risk to the salmon is far to great to allow any pipelines to cross our territories and none will.
“We will not lose the salmon on our watch.”
Luutkudziiwus hereditary chiefs, who have been using a checkpoint to block access to their Madii Lii territory since August, were also present at the blockade.
Chief Luutkudziiwus (Char-lie Wright) said TransCanada’s proposed Prince Rupert Gas Transmission pipeline would not
be allowed on Madii Lii territory. “Our Madii Lii territory is
not for sale or use by the prov-ince of B.C. or TransCanada, a mere third party developer that has no understanding of what they are proposing to do, has no idea of our culture, no idea of our heritage,” he said.
The Gitxsan Development Corporation is currently facilitat-ing negotiations between Gitxsan chiefs and the B.C. government over an LNG benefit agreement which would guarantee financial benefits, including employment for the Gitxsan nation.
The Spookw and Luutkudzi-iwus hereditary chiefs said they denounced the offer because it attempted to bind the entire Gitx-san nation from taking action against the pipeline projects.
They also say the develop-ment corporation does not speak for all Gitxsan.

PRINCE RUPERT - Pacific NorthWest LNG announced last week it is not expecting to make a final investment decision by the end of the year as initially antici-pated.
“Petronas and its partners have decided to defer the project’s $36 billion final investment deci-sion pending further clarity on substantive items of importance to ensure that critical project com-ponents align with the economic viability of the project and com-petition from other LNG produc-ing countries,” reads a company statement.
“Costs associated with the pipeline and LNG facility remain challenging and must be reduced further before a positive FID can be undertaken. At the same time, Pacific NorthWest LNG will con-tinue work to secure necessary
regulatory and other approvals from the Government of Canada.”
The announcement came fol-lowing a meeting with provincial government officials earlier in the week.
The company said the meet-ing “brought resolution to key provincial policy matters that pro-vided added certainty”. The an-nouncement, included statements from Minister of Natural Gas De-velopment Coleman and Premier Christy Clark, said the compa-ny will conotinue to invest in the project while delayed.
“PETRONAS, through its up-stream unconventional company, Progress Energy Canada Ltd. and its partners, will continue to invest in its natural gas development in British Columbia at a measured pace until such time as a posi-tive FID is made,” read the issued statement.

Executive Officer of PETRO-NAS, said there is no timeline in place for a final investment deci-sion.
“PETRONAS hopes that all outstanding factors can be re-solved as soon as possible to en-able the Final Investment De-cision to be made within the identified LNG supply and de-mand window. This is vital in light of the current intense mar-ket environment and for Pacific NorthWest LNG not to lose out on long term contracts to compet-itive United States LNG projects,” he said.
Coleman said he was consult-ed on the statement and remains optimistic about the project going ahead.
“It was always clear that once they got our piece complet-ed, they would move on to mak-ing sure their numbers across the board with their partners work,” Coleman said.

KITIMAT - In a speech to the Vancouver Board of Trade on De-cember 1, Alberta Premier Jim Prentice called pipeline propos-als — including Northern Gate-way — as “nation building” proj-
ects, saying such developments have the potential “to transform our country for the better.” Pren-tice calls the revenues that oil sands expansion will generate as “long term” and will be sustained over 50 years. He gave Canada a timeline of no later than 2020 to get pipelines built, otherwise the
country’s pipeline capacity will fall short of new production in Al-berta, and will affect the value the country receives on oil.
“We will start to get bottle-necks,” he said. “We will be sell-ing Canadian energy to U.S. mar-ketplace at deeply discounted prices.”

Threat leads to second Prince Rupert business evacuationBy Shaun ThomasTHE NORTHERN CONNECTOR
PRINCE RUPERT - On Friday, Dec. 5, the North-ern Savings Credit Union Prince Rupert branch and head office was evacuated by Prince Rupert RCMP after an employee received a call alluding to a threat to the building.
RCMP shut down Third Ave. West for approximate-ly an hour while officers
searched through the build-ing.
“The investigation is on-going, but we have deemed the building safe,” said Const. Matt Ericson.
This was the second time in two weeks a Prince Ru-pert business has received a threat. While a bomb-sniff-ing dog was brought in to Safeway on Nov. 26, Const. Ericson said that was not the case this time.
“The dog wasn’t needed
simply given the nature of the building. A bank is very secure and there are a lot of places the public are not permitted. Safeway is much larger, the public is allowed anywhere and there are a lot of containers there,” he said.

Former mayor Jack Talstra passes awayTERRACE - The Ter-race mayor who took the city through one of its darkest periods when a major forest industry employer closed down and who then laid the foundations for an eco-nomic turnaround has died.
Jack Talstra was 68. He passed away in Mills Memorial Hospi-tal, surrounded by fam-ily, early in the morning of Dec. 5.
Talstra served as mayor from 1985 to 2008, a period of 23 years, the longest any-one has served in that capacity.
That period took in an economic revival of the city’s fortunes when a forest products company called Repap opened a new Skeena Cellulose sawmill here in 1988 but also years of instability when the company ran into finan-cial troubles in 1997, ultimately resulting in it closing down com-pletely early in the next decade.
Without the city’s largest industrial tax-payer, Talstra and the city council of that pe-riod trimmed the city’s expenses and opera-tions.
But he also took part in a campaign to position the city as the northwest’s shopping and service centre to surrounding communi-ties, pursuing big box stores and other ame-nities. Talstra also lob-bied the provincial gov-ernment aggressively for ownership of sev-eral thousand acres of crown land off of Hwy 37 South just south of the Northwest Regional Airport on which to lo-
cate taxpaying indus-tries.
Known first as the airport industrial lands, it’s now known formal-ly as the Skeena Indus-trial Development Park in partnership with the Kitselas First Nation, half of which has now been sold to a Chinese economic development agency.
The city just last month renamed the main road into the in-dustrial park as Jack Talstra Way. Following the complete closure of the Skeena Cellu-lose mill, Talstra placed the city as a financial contributor to a locally-formed company called the Terrace Lumber Company to purchase the facility.
That took place in the spring of 2005 but market and other condi-tions forced the mill’s closure again the fol-lowing year and it was eventually dismantled.
The city ended up with the Keith Ave. acreage on which the mill and accompany-ing log yard was lo-cated, making it one of the larger holders of real estate within city boundaries.
Portions of the prop-erty have since been sold off and the city has now drawn up a concept plan to convert a portion of the property into a mixture of housing and commercial develop-ment.
Talstra-led city coun-cils spent years working at various plans for ei-ther a brand new mul-tiplex or addition to the civic arena. That even-tually culminated in a second sheet of ice and other improvements to
the existing arena build-ing with a grand open-ing taking place in No-vember 2008.
In addition to the lo-cal economy and city works, Talstra was also a strong advocate for re-gional governance con-nections.
At one point, he ad-vocated for the creation of a coalition of local municipal and aborigi-nal governments along the Skeena River aim-ing for consensus agree-ments on resource use and other issues.
An early champion of what is now the Northwest Transmis-sion Line, Talstra and then-city councillor Rich McDaniel trav-elled to Alaska in 2006
to take part in a confer-
ence exploring the idea of connecting southeast Alaska to B.C.’s energy grid.
Talstra was named a Freeman of the City in a ceremony held at city hall Nov. 24, one of just four people to receive
that recognition over the years. Pernarowski, who officiated at the Freeman ceremony, said “Jack Talstra showed outstanding community leadership during his long service as alder-man and mayor.”
Illness had prevented Talstra from attending either ceremony but he was represented at both by family members.
Talstra received a first civic honour in 2009 by being made a member of the Order of Terrace and he also re-ceived the 2012 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
He leaves wife Hil-da, five children and eight grandchildren.

PRINCE RUPERT - North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice is seeing red after a final update report on the Missing Women Commis-sion of Inquiry, released on Dec. 6, lacked any update or infor-mation about affordable public transportation along the High-way of Tears.
“It’s been two years since the Missing Women’s Commission said offering safe, accessible transportation along the High-way of Tears was an urgent rec-ommendation which should be
implemented immediately. Now the Minister of Justice is saying that this, and other unfinished recommendations, simply aren’t important,” said Rice.
“Women in these communities are often forced to make diffi-cult choices about getting to and from regional centres like Ter-race and Prince Rupert, choices that can put them at risk, and in-stead of giving those women ac-cess to safe affordable transpor-tation, the B.C. Liberals put out a website that lists limousines as a transportation option.”
However, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Suzanne
Anton noted that this report is not the end of all work on the file.
“While today’s report pro-vides our final, official update on two years of progress since Commissioner Oppal released his report, I want to be clear that our action on his recommenda-tions will continue,” she said.
“I know Transportation Minis-ter Todd Stone and his ministry are continuing to build on the extensive meetings they’ve had with First Nations and commu-nity leaders around transporta-tion challenges along the High-way 16 corridor.”

PRINCE RUPERT - A young Rupertite got to experience what it’s like being Prince Rupert’s fire chief last week thanks to the Prince Rupert Fire Rescue De-partment.
“It’s all part of Fire Preven-tion Week,” explained Jeff Beck-with, Prince Rupert’s deputy fire chief, noting the event usually
takes place in October but was delayed because of the teachers’ labour dispute.
Students in Grades 1 to 3 are eligible for the annual contest, with this year’s winner being Kailyn Jackson-Hill, a Grade 1 student from Roosevelt Park El-ementary.
Jackson-Hill was picked up at her school by members of the Prince Rupert Fire Rescue Department in a fire trucks and
brought to the fire hall for a tour. Firefighters then took the contest winner to Safeway to perform a mock fire safety inspection, which ended up in the bakery.
Thanks to Safeway, Jackson-Hill was able to bring a large cake back with her to school to share with her classmates.
Before dropping Jackson-Hill back off, firefighters treated the fire chief for a day to lunch at McDonald’s.

Delivery date will be the morning of Sat-urday, December 20, and our committee is very busy getting orga-nized for that big day. It is important to notice for those of you receiving a hamper that an adult or teen must be at home the morning of delivery in order to sign for the hamper – hampers not signed for will not be left but will be returned to the Food Bank. turned hampers may be picked up on Tuesday, December 23rd between 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

About the Project
LNG Canada, a joint venture between Shell Canada Ltd., Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), Mitsubishi Corporation and PetroChina Company, is proposing to build an LNG export terminal in Kitimat. LNG Canada’s vision is to work collaboratively with the local community, First Nations and stakeholders, to deliver a project that is safe, reliable and reflective of community interests.

Corporations help breakfast programsTERRACE - A nation-al charity has added a number of northwest-ern B.C. schools, in-cluding three from Ter-race and Thornhill, to a list of those offering breakfast programs � -nanced directly by cor-porations.
Rio Tinto Alcan had been paying for break-fasts at six northwest-ern schools and is now extending that to � ve more schools through a $250,000 three-year commitment.
And $100,000 from TransCanada Pipelines for four northwestern schools over three years means both corporations will feed an estimated 1,000 students a year through the Breakfast Club of Canada.
Rio Tinto Alcan’s two local schools are Skeena Middle School and Cassie Hall Ele-mentary while Thorn-hill Primary is the local TransCanada breakfast school.
R e p r e s e n t a t ive s from the charity and the two companies were in town this week at the schools, helping school employees serve up breakfasts.Money not only buys food but equipment such as toast-ers, grills and dishes and, for Thornhill Pri-mary, a dishwasher.
R e p r e s e n t a t ive s from both Rio Tinto Al-can and TransCanada Pipelines, which has been chosen to build two natural gas pipelines across the north, one to a planned LNG plant at Kitimat and one to an-other one in Prince Ru-pert, said it was impor-tant for the companies to be involved in commu-nities in which they are active.
Sandra Dube, the First Nations support worker at Skeena Mid-dle School who single-handedly runs the pro-gram, says between 30 and 40 students a day have a breakfast consist-ing of either French toast or pancakes, yogurt, ce-real, fruit and juice.
“I’ve been here sev-en years and at the start there was fruit roll-ups and fruit cups. We’ve been really making an effort to make it more nutritious,” she said.
Skeena principal Phil Barron estimated the breakfast program is used by approximate-ly eight per cent of the school’s 580 students.
Last year the break-fast program cost ap-proximately $7,000, a � gure he expects will
rise this year because of in� ation as well as in-creased demand.
“There’s a social as-pect to this as well. Hav-ing students eat together sets a tone. We want a positive school climate and this starts off the morning well,” said Bar-ron.
The school also draws on money from the provincial govern-ment through the school
district and pro� ts from canteen sales and gym rentals to � nance break-fast as well as lunches.
The Thornhill Pri-mary breakfast program is expected to feed 30 students a day at an an-nual cost of $10,000 and principal Darlene Bragg-Hounsell said that number could rise depending upon the day.
It’ll be the � rst time there is a breakfast pro-
gram at Thornhill Pri-mary which had been of-fering muf� ns and other goods at snack time paid for by the province through the school dis-trict.
“There is no stigma attached,” said Bragg-Hounsell.
“This is for any stu-dent. What we really want to do here is pro-mote good nutrition.”

PRINCE RUPERT - The music of Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson and more distinctive artists filled the Jim Ciccone Arena on Sunday morning to cel-ebrate the finale of the Kla How Ya Interclub meet, hosted by the Prince Rupert Skating Club.
And it was a comfortable third-place finish for Mickaela Ward and Brianna Hagen in the silver and gold women’s interpretive skates, respectively, to cap off a successful event for all members of the Prince Rupert skating club over the weekend.
Amy McNabb represented Rupert with her strong performance in group two of bronze wom-
en’s interpretive as well.A panel of judges took over the visitor’s bench of
the hockey arena and skaters from Prince Rupert, Terrace, Smithers, Hazelton, Houston, Kitimat, Vanderhoof, Quesnel and Prince George all took in the Kla How Ya – an annual showcase of the top figure skaters in Northwest B.C.
Swift’s Shake it Off and a Jackson compilation including Thriller had the audience applauding for every salchow, axel, flip and toe jump the talented young skaters were displaying.
Along with McNabb, Hagen and Ward, Wic-cem Toye-Oesch skated in STAR 1 – boys and girls group one for Prince Rupert; Renee Charlton fol-lowed with a skate in STAR 1 - boys and girls group two; and Jessica Slocombe participated in STAR 2 - girls group one.
Becca Phillips showed her stuff in STAR 2 - girls group three, skating with fellow Rupertites Emi-ly Hartling and Emily Horne, while McNabb also
took part in STAR 4 – girls 13 and over. Ward com-peted in STAR 5 – girls 13 and over and Slocombe also skated in Elements 1 – group one.
Elements 1 – group three found McNabb taking to the ice once again and Ward followed her in Ele-ments 2 – group two.
On the final day, Phillips finished fourth in Pre-Introductory Interpretive – group three while Har-tling and Horne both withdrew from the same group.
Ward’s 29.71 score for the Silver Women’s Inter-pretive was a crowd-pleaser as was Hagen’s 37.50 score in the gold.
Taking gold with a score of 40.88 was Kitimat’s Snow Valley Skating Club’s Candace Abercrom-bie with the winner of Silver Women going to Jesse Thandi of Terrace.
Chantal Gammie from Smithers was the runner-up in Silver while in Gold, Samantha Follows took second and Katie Ball withdrew from the category.

TEACHER ON-CALL Shelly passed away peacefully on December 6 at Kitimat General Hospital after a long illness which she met with courage and grace. Jack Walter Ashdown Green was born in Victoria B.C. August 12, 1918, the son of Ashdown T. Green and Gladys (Dumbleton) Green. He was educated in Victoria and attended Victoria College (Craigdarroch) 1935-1937 after three short time jobs he enlisted in the RCAF in 1941. He served in Canada and England until 1946 when he was discharged as a Sergeant (accounts). In 1943 he had married Shirley Adela Bastin (also RCAF) who was his wife for over sixty-two years until her death March 8, 2006. Jack obtained his diploma as a Chartered Accountant in 1952 and worked in Victoria, Salt Spring Island and Kitimat BC. In 1967 he changed to the Health Care Field obtaining his Diploma in Hospital Organization and Management in 1971. He retired as Administrator of Kitimat General Hospital in 1982. Retirement years for Jack and Shirley were spent in Duncan, B.C.Jack is survived by sons Peter G.A. Green (Audrey) and Derek A. Green, daughter Gillian A. Green and grandson Colin A. COMMUNITY GRANT WRITER(Contract Position)
Under the supervision of the Director of Leisure Services the Grant Writer will research and write applications for potential grant or low interest loan opportunities related to existing or future projects, services or purchase of assets for the District of Kitimat, community groups and non-profit organizations in Kitimat. Duties of the position may include:
a. Setting up and running grant related workshops;b. Meeting with interested proponents about grant opportunities;c. Research, collation of material and coordination of grants or low interest
loan applications;d. Provision of promotional or marketing material for projects, programs or
services that have been paid with full or partial funding of a grant or low interest loan opportunity;
e. Collection of information from other communities who have been successful with grant or low interest loan opportunities;
f. Preparation of final report with budget for all activities including recommendations for future program.
The successful applicant will have a bachelor degree in communication or related field, previous grant writing experience, knowledge/experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook. They will be able to demonstrate time management skills and the ability to work with deadlines. Good communication skills are a must as the candidate will have to work with a variety of Municipal departments, community groups and non-profit organizations. The successful candidate must have a minimum of a class 5 drivers’ licence.This contract position will pay $25.00 per contact hour. within budget;• Works closely with Kitselas staff, community members, and consultants;• Liaises Kitselas Finance Department to balance project expenditure;• Develops and maintains a project database, including project initiation and closure;• Completes expense claims for staff members and tracks expenditure;• Enters data and compiles research from various external agencies;• Tracks expenditure by consultants, contractors, and temporary staff;• Tracks invoice payments;• Generates RFP/RFQ requests to obtain services and ensure responses meet all criteria;• Prepares invoices, monthly reports, and contract closure reports for project proponents;• Develops and manages funding transfer agreements;• Assists in development and implementation of projects; and• Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE• Completion of a Diploma in Financial Management, Project Management, or related field;• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in same or similar setting;• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;• Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers’ License;• Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office;• Experience working with confidential and sensitive issues;• Experience with organizing and running projects;• Experience with reviewing contracts preferred;• Experience with or knowledge of personnel management, producing summary reports,
completing expense claims, working on strict deadlines preferred;• Previous experience working in a First Nations community and/or organization is preferred;• An understanding of relevant federal, provincial and local legislation, policies and proce-
dures; and• An understating of the north coast BC cultural and political environment an asset.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Act as a point of contact for and co-ordinate the Engagement Activities in respect of KFN.• Liaise with the KFN Elders regarding the Project and maintain regular and frequent con-
tact with the Elders.• Organize meetings between LNG proponents and KFN representatives and KFN mem-
bers in connection with the Engagement Activities.• Travel, on short notice, to and from various locations, to liaise with LNG proponent
representatives.• Provide the community with regular Project updates in cooperation with LNG proponent
representatives.• Other responsibilities in relation to the Engagement Activities as may be assigned jointly by KFN• and the proponent.• Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS• A minimum of grade 10.• Demonstrate adequate proficiency in computer skills such as word, excel, and powerpoint.• Have significant business experience or professional experience or an understanding of

Kitimat Ice Demons squeeze a win out of Rupert Rampage By Cameron OrrTHE NORTHERN CONNECTOR
KITIMAT - The Kitimat Ice De-mons just squeaked by with a win against the Prince Rupert Rampage on November 29.
The Demons wrapped up their match 5-4 to the Rampage, even as the Rampage spent the better part of the third period rapidly gaining on the Demons’ early lead.
The Ice Demons opened up scoring late in the � rst period with a goal by Jeremy Brady. Prince Ru-pert tied it up again near the end, but the Demons pushed hard in the sec-
ond period to give a substantial 4-1 lead.
The � rst two minutes of the third saw the Rampage and the De-mons each scoring, before the Ram-page concluded with two more goals minutes later. That 5-4 lead by the Demons was held from then on until the end.
The win came on the heels of an Ice Demons loss to the Terrace Riv-er Kings the night before on home ice.
The match was notably rougher with 73 minutes of penalties being handed out over the evening.
The River Kings got an early
lead with a goal just 30 seconds into the � rst period with a shot by Chap-en Leblond.
The Ice Demons worked back up to tie the game by the end of the � rst 2-2, but let go of that lead in the second and had it slip just out of grasp, with Rajan Sangha earning Terrace’s sixth and � nal goal for the night in the third, ending it 6-4.
The Kitimat team next faces the Terrace River Kings and the Smith-ers Steelheads on the December 12 and 13 weekend, in two away games. The next home game is De-cember 27 against the Prince Ru-pert Rampage.

TERRACE - Caledonia’s Sr. Girls volleyball team was “de� nitely in the running for the hardware” at this year’s provincial championships, losing only twice – to the two teams who placed � rst and second – and � nish-ing � fth overall.
That’s the best � nish the team has seen at a provin-cial championship, and a testament to the years of dedi-cation the team has put forward since they formed in middle school.
“We de� nitely peaked at the right time,” said coach Carmen Didier in an email after the tournament. “Very proud of all the girls.”

Caledonia then took on the hometeam, Ballenas, in two sets before taking on Dover in the 5th vs. 6th con-solation � nal, which the team would win in two straight sets to end the championship tournament on a high note.
Another high note: Caledonia’s Cassidy Kitchen was named on the First All-Star Team.
This marks the end of a successful high school vol-leyball career for the majority of the girls – all but two are graduating this year.

PRINCE RUPERT - Registration for the 2015 National Aboriginal Busi-ness Opportunities Conference (NAB-OC) is now underway, with the event scheduled to run April 28 to April 30.
The 2015 NABOC will bring hun-dreds to Prince Rupert at the end of April, with the upcoming conference having the potential to bring in more delegates than 2014.
Speakers will be making their pre-sentations at the Lester Centre of the Arts at the 2015-event, which has pro-vided an increase in available seating for delegates.
NABOC organizer Geoff Green-well of the 2G Group said there will be room for 500 people, a slight increase from 2014’s capacity of 420.
“We expect to see a lot more inter-national delegates,” Greenwell said.
“It’s become a very popular event.”The three-day networking event
showcases successful private sector and Aboriginal business ventures, al-lowing First Nations communities and businesses to meet with private sector organizations.
The 2G Group is expecting there will be 100 Aboriginal businesses and communities from around the region represented at the conference, in addi-tion to 250 private sector corporations.
Greenwell said 2G Group is careful-ly monitoring activity in the region to decide who will speak in April.
“We’ve � ushed out the topics that
will be in the agenda and we’ll popu-late the topics with speakers in Janu-ary,” he said.
Things will start off differently at the 2015 NABOC, with the � rst day of the conference being exclusive to First Nations delegates.
“That day there will be a session on impact bene� t agreements. We’ll be bringing in some of Canada’s top legal experts who work in that � eld to lead some discussion amongst the First Na-tions groups,” he said, adding the fol-lowing two days will be open to all.
The North Coast Job Fair will once again be included in the conference, and Greenwell is con� dent the number of exhibitors will be at capacity.
So far, this year’s major NABOC sponsors are Opus Stewart Weir, SMIT Marine and Northern Savings Credit Union, with organizers continuing to call out for additional sponsors to help run the event.
Registration is currently underway for delegates, sponsors and exhibitors. Those interested in signing up can reg-ister at 2ggroup.ca.
