1. The Event shall be run in accordance with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. Competition Rules,General Rules and Special Rules pertaining to this show. A copy of the Competition Rules can beobtained from your Association Secretary or from the Show Secretary, Mrs. Dianne McMahon - Tel. (02)66290269. Copies will also be available from the Secretary’s Office at the Show or they can bedownloaded from the Council’s webpage www.showhorsecouncilaust.com.au

2. The Northern NSW Show Horse Association Inc Committee reserves the right itself to interpret allquestions and conditions and shall make any relevant decisions in regard to, or arising from any incident ator pertaining to this Show, without claim for damages or recourse of any kind. Any questions not covered inthe Conditions of Entry will be decided by The Northern NSW Show Horse Association Inc. Committee. Itsdecision will be final.

3. Entry and Competition in the Event are voluntary. By Entry it is the Absolute Liability of all participants toagree to be bound by the decisions of The Northern NSW Show Horse Association Inc. Committee and/orShow Horse Council of Australasia Inc. and compete in accordance with all Rules applicable to theCompetition.

4. Entry to this Event shall constitute an agreement and affirmation by the Exhibitor(s)/Owner(s), ResponsibleOfficer (which includes Lessee(s)/Manager/Rider/Handler) to compete subject to and in accordance withthe Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. Competition Rules and Conditions applicable to this Event.

5. Exhibitors must choose between entry in Open Hack, Galloway or Pony Classes and Show Hunter Hack,Galloway or Pony Classes. No exhibit can be shown in both the Open and Show Hunter Classes. Onceentries have been received by Northern NSW Show Horse Association Inc they cannot be changed underany circumstances, including postponement of the show.

6. A Saddle Horse will be over 15hh, a Galloway will be over 14hh and not exceeding 15hh, a Pony will be14hh and under.

7. All Horse Registration Papers are required to be in order at time of entry. A full copy of the papers (shallaccompany ALL HORSE and RIDING EVENT Entries, or Entries will NOT be accepted.

8. Copies of Council Membership cards or of receipts of Hack Association membership for the 2014/15membership year shall accompany all entries. Exhibitors/Competitors the S.H.C. Risk Management Policyapplies to all persons competing &/or attending the Event. A Copy of the Policy will be available on the dayat the Show Office or can be downloaded from the Council’s webpagewww.showhorsecouncilaust.com.au

9. Entry Fees shall accompany the Entry Form and are non-refundable after the closing date for anycircumstances including postponement of the show.

10. Should any information or fees be omitted from the Entry, the entry will not be catalogued until informationis received and all monies have cleared the bank. (this information must be received prior to the closingdate)

11. A Handling Fee of $25.00 will apply to any Entry that is incorrect, these entries will be returned to theExhibitor and stables will not be allocated until the correct entries are received.

12. Numbers corresponding to the catalogue shall be worn. Breast Plate numbers on horses in Led and Saddleclasses. Riding classes will be issued a separate breast plate number. Horse entries shall be cataloguedas per Exhibitor(s) on Entry Form.

13. The Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. shall not be responsible for the loss of, or for any damage orinjury occasioned to any Exhibit or the property of any Exhibitor(s) from any cause whatsoever.

14. The Exhibitors and Competitors enter and compete entirely at their own risk.15. Except where any ineligibility is officially determined, the Judge’s decision is FINAL. A Judge’s decision

representing his/her individual preference cannot be protested against.16. All protests shall be in writing to the Ground Jury accompanied by a fee of $50.00 and are to be received

no later than one hour after the Event, after which time no protest shall be entered.17. No outside assistance is to be displayed during Competition. Penalty of Disqualification may apply to

breach of this Regulation.18. Drug Testing will be carried out during the three days of the Show in accordance with Show Horse Council

of Australasia Inc. requirements and Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. Competition Rules on DRUGSand DRUG TESTING (Rules 7.1 - 7.12) together with the Department of Sport and Recreation DopingPolicy, or in accordance with the relevant Laboratory Sample Collection Protocol. Compliance with thisRule is mandatory for all Exhibits and Persons Responsible. Drug Penalties as adopted in the Show HorseCouncil of Australasia Inc. Competition Rules (7.8a & 7.8b) will apply. Registration papers must beproduced if a horse is called up for Drug Testing. Drug testing guidelines can be obtained from the ShowOffice on the days of the event or can be downloaded from the Council’s webpagewww.showhorsecouncilaust.com.au

19 It is the intention of these Regulations that all horses shall perform at the time of competition on theirmerits, without the aid of any Drug(s) or Prohibited Substance(s) which will affect the conduct, performanceor appearance of the horse.

20. It is the Absolute Liability of the Owner(s)/Competitor/Exhibitor(s)/Responsible Officer to ensure that anyhorse exhibited by them in this competition is free from any Prohibited/Banned Drug or Substance at thetime of Competition. Failure to adhere to this Rule may render the Competitor/Exhibit/Owner(s)/Exhibitor(s)/Responsible Officer liable to disqualification and/or disciplinary action as determined by the Show HorseCouncil of Australasia Inc.

21. Results of Drug Testing may be published.22. A TREATMENT FORM (available from the Show Secretary or can be downloaded from the Council’s

webpage www.showhorsecouncilaust.com.au ) shall be completed and lodged by the Responsible Officerfor ANY HORSE WHICH HAS BEEN ADMINISTERED ANY DRUG OR PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE within14 DAYS prior to this Competition. The Treatment Form shall be accompanied by a VETERINARYCERTIFICATE containing full details of any ailment and/or injury and treatment and be forwarded to theShow Secretary within 24 hours of the initial treatment. If initial treatment occurs within 24 hours ofcommencement of the Show the Treatment Form must be lodged with the Show Secretary as soon aspossible, but no later than 7.00am on the day of Competition. Where the horse requires continuedtreatment (after the Form is lodged), a written report detailing the treatment shall be submitted prior to theday of Competition.

23. The decision as to whether the horse will be permitted to start shall be made by the Ground Jury.Veterinary advice may be sought if considered necessary. The Exhibitor/Competitor shall be advised ofthe decision prior to the commencement time. No (a) claim shall be made against or (b) appeal made tothe Ground Jury or Council if, by such decision of the Ground Jury, the Entry is not permitted to start.

24. The Committee reserves the right to refuse or withdraw any Entry/Entries without having to assign areason.

25. In this Competition, “Horse” refers to a Saddle Horse, a Galloway or a Pony26. All information supplied by the Exhibitor(s) and/or Owner(s) and/or Responsible Officer, (i.e. the person in

charge of the horse) shall be true and correct and represent that the horse/rider is eligible to compete. Ifthis information is found to be false, the exhibit shall be ineligible to compete. The Show Horse Council ofAustralasia Inc may discipline the Exhibitor(s) and/or Owner(s) and/or Responsible Officer of the Entry.

27. Horse entries shall only be accepted where the name(s) and signature(s) of the current registeredOwner(s) &/or Lessee(s), Responsible Officers and Exhibitors/Competitors appear on the Entry Form.

28. Where an Owner of the horse shall be in charge of the horse during the Competition, then THAT Owner isrequired to sign the Entry Form as the Responsible Officer.

29. If a person other than an Owner shall be in charge of the horse during the Competition, then THAT personis required to sign the Entry Form as the Responsible Officer.

30. Where a horse is registered and/or entered in the name of a minor (under 18 years), the Entry Form shallbe signed by the parent/legal guardian.

31. In the event of Disciplinary Action, the person(s) considered responsible shall be the Owner(s) and/or theResponsible Officer and/or the person in charge of the horse at the time of the Offence.

32. The Organising Committee and/or the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. and/or the Ground Jury,reserve the right to alter the number of Finalists, Program, Judges, Schedule or Timetable.

33. Horse Numbers and registration papers must be produced at time of measuring. Only current Show HorseCouncil of Australia Inc. Measuring Certificates will be recognised.

34. Show Horse Council measurers will be in attendance to measure horses and issue official measuringcertificates.

35. Exhibitors of Horses holding Current or Life Official Show Horse Council Measuring Certificates arerequired to provide a copy of such Certificates with their entries. This will enable the Breast Plate of theEntry to be stamped, Height recorded & colour sticker attached prior to the Show and be ready for pick upat the Show Office. Horses for which Current Certificates have been supplied will not be required for furtherverifying i.e. NO standing in line at the Measuring Box. Marshalling Stewards will check that Breast Platesare in order before horses are permitted to entry the Ring. Any exhibit Breast Plates that are found not tobe in order will not be able to compete until Measured by the Official Measurer, no event will be held up forthese exhibits to be measured. At his/her discretion, the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. OfficialMeasurer may require any horse to be measured.

36. The horse’s endorsed breastplate shall be displayed for the Marshalling Steward for verification prior toentering the ring for Competition. Any breach of this Regulation may incur disqualification.

37. Where a competitor has a clash with classes in more than one ring at one time: they must notify the RingMaster or Stewards in all rings concerned. The Ring Master can approve for a horse to be held in the ringallowing the rider to move from ring to ring. (The handler must be dressed appropriately and act only at thedirection of the Ring Master)

38. Grand National Qualifiers Classes- All Mounts will be required to present to the judges therefore willrequire a rider.

39. In Riding Classes, two Riders in the same Section cannot ride the same horse. Entries received withmounts TBA WILL NOT be accepted. Any changes to mounts on the day WILL NOT be accepted unlessrequests are made to the Ground Jury prior to the event. Requests must be accompanied by a NEWFULLY COMPLETED Rider Class Entry Form stating Horses Names and Signed by all requiredsignatories.

40. In a Rider Class Six years and under Nine years, the mount shall not exceed 14hh.41. In a Rider Class Nine years and under Twelve Years, the mount shall not exceed 14.2hh.42. Riders in Rider Class under Seventeen Years are required to wear Jodhpur boots.43. All Riders are required to wear an approved helmet and riding boots at all times. Any breach of this Rule,

may incur disqualification from the Competition.44. Lunging on the main arena is NOT permitted at any time. Lunging is only permitted in designated areas.

Exercising of horses on the Main Arena will be at the discretion of the Ground Committee.45. Major Prize Money will be forwarded on confirmation of Swabbing Results.46. Dogs must be kept of leads at all times.47. CLOSING DATE OF ENTRIES: Last Mail on the 15th April 2015. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED

up to 21st April 2015 a Late Entry Fee of $50 will apply.48. PRELIMINARY COMPETITION for both Open and Hunter for Ponies, Galloway’s and Hacks three years of

age and over that have not placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an individual OPEN or SHOW HUNTER Hack Event at aRoyal Show – or been Winner of the title “Horse of the Year” or the title “Show Hunter of the Year” or thetitle “Runner-Up Horse of the Year” or the title Runner-Up Show Hunter of the Year” at ANY Horse of theYear Show – or been the Champion of any Horse of the Year Intermediate or Preliminary Competition.Any Performance gained AFTER the close of entry will be counted. Royal Shows include Bathurst Royal,Toowoomba Royal and Launceston Royal.

49. AMATEUR: A person who, for the past three years, has not received any fee, sponsorship, gift orreward or be or have been in any way subsidised or reimbursed for his/her services connected in anyrespect whatsoever with Coaching, Training, Riding or Showing of any horse for any other person. Anaward or prize money or trophy won as a prize in an official competition shall not affect Amateur status.AMATEUR COMPETITION: The horse shown in an Amateur Class must be owned & exhibited by theRider who is an Amateur and/or a member of the Rider’s Immediate Family, for a period of not less thanthree months. The horse must not have been shown, or ridden or trained by a Non-Amateur, within theprevious three months.IMMEDIATE FAMILY: Spouse, brother, sister, child, parents, grand-parents, grand-children. Step, andpersons living in a de-facto relationship, for the purpose of this section, shall be considered to be married.

50. Royal Shows shall include Toowoomba Royal, Bathurst Royal and Launceston Royal.51. First Season Horses must not have started their show careers under saddle prior to the 1st June 201452. Owners/Exhibitors must supply a Statutory Declaration stating their Horses eligibility for entry in First

Season classes, Newcomers Classes and Amateur Classes and their Own Eligibility for Amateur Classes.53. All Grand National Qualifying classes will be judged by 3 Judges independently using the Show Horse

Council of Australasia Inc. approved Point Score System where the worst score is dropped off, any Horsesor Riders tying on equal points will be decided by going back to the appointed section Pony/Galloway orHack judge to decide the result. In the case of Riding Classes the Tie Breaking Judge will be advertisedprior to commencement of the classes by way of Notice Board and over the public address system. TheShow Horse Council of Australasia and the Northern NSW Show Horse Inc. committee reserves the right tocorrect any clerical errors made in the course of carrying out their duties.

54. Current DPI Regulations must be adhered to for this event, inter state exhibitors need to contact theirrelevant state body for advice about attending this event.

55. Any person/persons who are found to be camping and have not paid for a camping site will be asked toleave the grounds. The Northern NSW Show Horse Association Inc. committee reserves the right to alsoasked for their horses removal, no refund in this case will be given for stabling fee’s that have been paid bythe offending exhibitor.

56. Please note if you do not receive a confirmation of entries and information letter we HAVE NOTRECEIVED OR PROCESSED YOUR ENTRIES AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE AT OURSHOW.

57. Stabling will be allocated on the basis of distance travelled and days staying. We cannot guarantee stablesfor local competitors.

58. Working hunter classes will only be run if conditions are warranted as safe, if the weather is inclement andwe do not run these classes the committee will refund entry monies.

GENERAL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Please read the Regulations and Conditions of Entry in the front of the program and for fulfill all the

requirements otherwise your nominations will be returned as incomplete.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING;

First Season Ridden Horses must not have started their show careers under saddle prior to the 1st June2014. Statutory Declarations must accompany all nominations of Ridden First Season Horses confirmingthis. Newcomer Led Horses must be entered in the Newcomer Ridden.

Statutory Declarations must accompany all Amateur Hack Class nominations confirming that thenomination meets all Amateur Eligibility Requirements, please refer to the Rule and Regulations in the frontof the program.

Copies of Birth Certificates must accompany all nominations for Riders entered in Riding Classes under 21years.

Copies of National Saddle Horse Registration Papers must accompany all nominations of Horses enteredin Grand National Qualifying classes (Open Show Hunters, Open Hack, Amateur Hack, Preliminary Hackand all mounts in Riding Classes). Exhibitors of horses pending the issue of papers must forward with theirnominations a photocopy of BOTH SIDES of the National Saddle Horse Application Registration Form.Horses with incomplete transfers at the time of nomination will be deemed to be ineligible.

Current copies (2013/14) of Show Horse Council membership cards or copies of receipts provingmembership of an Affiliated State or Clubs must accompany all nominations to this event.

Please ensure that all the paperwork and the correct money are included when you return your entries,otherwise your entries will be return and a $25.00 fee will be incurred and stables will not be allocated untilcorrected entries are received.

STABLE BOOKINGS STRICTLY RUN FROM MIDDAY ONE DAY TO MIDDAY THE NEXT DAY. Allhorses must be removed from their stables by MIDDAY if you have not booked for the following Night toallow the next Exhibitors into the stables. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. If you have anyconcerns in regards to this please contact us prior to the Show. Stables will be allocated in the order thatCORRECT entries are received.

INFORMATION

While the showground has excellent showground stables some of the stables have 4 rail dividers. Foradded safety it is recommended that you may wish to bring some tarps or Hessian to tie between thestables.

No bedding is supplied for the stables. STRAW IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE STABLES, ONLYSHAVINGS CAN BE USED.
