Aims· Development and advancement of methods and measures to improve pest control in deciduous orchards to assist growers. · Development of control programs using reduced poison levels in keeping with the consumer’s demands for more “friendly” agricultural produce.

Research Projects under-way:
Development of means and methods for monitoring and controlling the key pests – Codling Moth, Pear Psylla, Fruit Fly, Parlatoria oleae.
Suggestions for solution to establish integrated pest control for the long-term.
Importing and acclimatization of natural enemies.
Development of integrated control methods in Stonefruit.
Low-Volume Application to control pests.
Research Activities
•Data gathering and keeping up with existing information on topics connected with plant protection.
•Development of updated control recommendation for the growers.
Support Activities Screening of new chimical products under controlled conditions. Follow up on the resistance of pests to control substances. Chacking of Pesticide Residues.
Regional Support network Meteorological and Phenological warninigs. Warning for time spraying of pest whose control necessitates regional co-operation.
The Connection of the IPMC, with the Growers and the Extension Service
· Documentation and distribution of pests information (type, damage, control).
· Instruction courses for scouts.
· Distribution of current information of the time control in the entire region.
· Internet page of Northern R&D containing up-to-date information.
