What  is  Canvas?  Our  Canvas  connection  is  

offered  quarterly  throughout  the  year  and  serves  as  the  primary  on  ramp  to  serving  in  the  

worship  ministry  of  Northside  Christian  Church.      

 The  3  main  goals  of  the  

Canvas  are:      

1-­‐to  demonstrate/explain  your  talent/gifts  

2-­‐to  share  your  interest    in  the  ministry  

3-­‐to  meet  Shawn  Cartwright  and  have  dialogue  about  the  vision  and  purpose  of  the  ministry

 What  do  I  need  to  do  to  prepare  for  my  Canvas  time  slot?    Requirements  for  the  Canvas  vary,  depending  on  the  nature  of  the  ministry  area  in  which  you  are  interested  in  participating.    The  requirements  are  as  follows:    Vocal:  prepare  an  excerpt  of  a  song  of  your  choice  to  sing  with  track  accompaniment  OR  sing  a  simple  praise  chorus  or  hymn  with  Shawn  and  the  keyboard  (i.e.  Amazing  Grace)    Instrumental:  display  your  skill  level  at  your  instrument  by  playing  an  excerpt  of  an  instrumental  solo  of  some  sort  OR  accompanying  a  praise  chorus  or  hymn    Drama:  prepare  a  short  monologue  (2  min.  max)  to  present    Tech  (Sound,  Projection,  Lighting):  arrive  prepared  to  discuss  your  skill  level,  experience  and  desire  to  serve  in  the  Tech  ministry    Video:  arrive  prepared  to  discuss  your  skill  level,  experience  and  desire  to  serve  in  a  Video  ministry  AND  bring  a  demonstration  of  your  work    Other:    arrive  prepared  to  discuss  your  skill  level,  experience  and  desire  to  serve  in  your  ministry  area  of  interest    How  long  does  1  Canvas  time  slot  last?    15  minutes    How  do  I  sign  up  for  a  Canvas  time  slot?    Visit  www.northsideart.org  and  click  on  the  “Get  Connected”  tab.
