History Of NorwayNorway's national

day is celebrated across the country on the 17th May. A little over 50 years ago Norway was one of the poorest countries in Europe. This changed following the discovery of oil in the late 1960s.

Kon-TikiThis Viking ship,

Kon-Tiki is in Oslo. This is an actual ship that sailed on the sea.

 It was named after the Inca sun god, Viracocha, for whom "Kon-Tiki" was said to be an old name.

FjordsNorway has fjords. The fjords 0f Norway were dug out by ice, stones and rocks during the successful ice ages. They are great tourist attractions.
