Corwin and Kyle Pieper for taking charge of the Pickleball Tournament. There was a great committee help- ing. The committee included Bill W. Corwin, Beth Goedken, Helen Turner, Joe Kobes, Laura Holms, Pat Arthur, Donna Larson, Ed Arnold and Leray Glenden- ning. We had many Rotarians show up to help at the Tournament, which was awesome! The Pickleball Tournament had 68 players. Northwest Des Moines Rotary won the traveling trophy. The feedback from the players was positive. Smash Park was happy with the Tournament and I think is willing to help us again, next year. The tentative date for next year’s Tournament is April 25th. Better start practicing! When you combine the income from the raffle tickets and the Pickleball Tournament, over $10,000.00 was raised. Joe reported that more raffle tickets were sold this year than any other year. Thanks to everyone who sold tickets. This money will go in our Service Above Self bank account. I have been working on our Facebook page. We really need more people to follow our page. Sarah Hanson Blessman Ministries/South Africa This was a repeat visit; Sarah (a Waukee Club member) has come to speak at our Club seven times! This time, she wanted to tell us about a couple of Blessman projects that have received financial support from District 6000. TEACH A CHILD TO FISH Supported by 9 Iowa clubs and 4 clubs in South Africa, and a $200,000 Global Grant. Run by a graduate from Iowa State University. Began with assessing 24 schools, selecting 10, planning on 50 participants, ending up with 150; some schools even offered to pay for their stu- dents to attend. Project location has a year-round growing season. Goal is to train students, then send them back to local schools to expand education. Target was for 50% of participants to complete the program; actual result ws 89%.

Corwin, Beth Goedken, Helen Turner, Joe Kobes, Laura Holms, Pat Arthur, Donna Larson, Ed Arnold and Leray Glenden-ning.
