Do you need formal education in the arts to be successful?
Although naturally talented individuals can have success in an art career without formal
training, there are many aspects to consider. Developing skills in an organized environment helps promote discipline and team work, both
essential to a career in the arts. “To ensure the success of their endeavors, [artists] will also need to
learn and understand how community arts projects are organized, funded, managed, and promoted. (“Xavier University art,”)
