El Comité de Control de esta Copa Panamericana U-19 Santo Domingo Republica

Dominicana 2019 comunica que a solicitud del comité organizador del evento a

partir de mañana día 27 de Abril se modificaran los horarios de los Juegos

Oficiales de Competencia como se indica a continuación y las modificaciones en el

Calendario de Entrenamientos estarán contenidos en este Boletín No. 4.

Cuba y México sellaron tickets a Semifinales

SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana, 26 de abril de 2019 – Cuba y México aseguraron su

puesto en las semifinales de la Copa Panamericana de Voleibol Masculino Sub-19 luego de triunfos

sobre Guatemala y Puerto Rico, respectivamente, este viernes.

El torneo ofrece dos boletos al Campeonato Mundial de la FIVB en este grupo de edad que tendrá

lugar en Túnez en agosto. Cuba ya está clasificado a ese evento.

En el otro encuentro de la jornada del viernes, República Dominicana venció a Nicaragua para

terminar detrás de Cuba en el Grupo A.

En los cuartos de finales del sábado, Chile se medirá a Guatemala y República Dominicana chocará

con Puerto Rico.

Cuba 3, Guatemala 0

Cuba pasó como tormenta por el lado de Guatemala en el tercer y último día de la fase preliminar.

Jugando en el Grupo A, Cuba terminó con Guatemala 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-15) en poco más de

una hora, combinando servicios sólidos con una clara ventaja de estatura en la red. Los cubanos

mantuvieron un margen enorme en ataques (38-23) bloqueos (11-2) y ases (6-2). Víctor Andreu

lideró un ataque equilibrado de Cuba con 11 puntos, seguido por Alexei Ramírez y Reynier Ibar,

cada uno con 9 y Luis David Allen con 8, incluyendo cinco bloqueos. Por Guatemala, David Ismalej

y Jason Hernández terminaron con 9 y 8 puntos, respectivamente.

México 3, Puerto Rico 1

México reclamó un pase directo a semifinales después de una victoria 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-

20) sobre Puerto Rico en el Grupo B el viernes. Los mexicanos terminaron con 2-0. Franky

Hernández fue la principal arma ofensiva para México con 22 puntos, incluidos 4 ases, seguido por

Luis David Hernández, quien aportó 16 puntos en la victoria. Luis Ramón López y Aldo Zambrano

contribuyeron con 8 puntos cada uno. Sebastián Negrón compartió con Hernández los honores

como los mejores anotadores del partido con 22 puntos y cuatro ases en el esfuerzo perdedor.

Diego Rosich y Wilmer Hernández anotaron 14 y 10, respectivamente, para Puerto Rico.

República Dominicana 3, Nicaragua 0

República Dominicana aseguró el segundo lugar del Grupo A al derrotar a Nicaragua en parciales

consecutivos 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 25-20). Después de dominar ampliamente en el primer set, la

escuadra dominicana jugó más relajada y en el tercer set el entrenador Loren Rodríguez dio

oportunidad de juego a sus reservas de la banca. Dawilin Méndez tuvo 12 puntos como el mejor

anotador dominicano, seguido de Bryan Turbides y Fuhit Edouard con 9 y 7, respectivamente. El

equipo dominicano marcó 12 ases la mayor cantidad por un conjunto en el torneo.

Cuba and Mexico sealed tickets to Semifinals

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 26, 2019 - Cuba and Mexico clinched their place in

the semi-finals of the U-19 Men's Volleyball Pan American Cup after triumphs over Guatemala and

Puerto Rico, respectively, on Friday.

The tournament offers two tickets to the FIVB World Championship in this age group that will take

place in Tunisia in August. Cuba is already classified to that event.

In the other match of the day on Friday, the Dominican Republic beat Nicaragua to finish behind

Cuba in Group A.

In the quarterfinals on Saturday, Chile will face Guatemala and the Dominican Republic will collide

with Puerto Rico.

Cuba 3, Guatemala 0

Cuba stormed past Guatemala in the third and last day of the preliminary phase. Playing in Pool A,

Cuba finished Guatemala 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-15) in just over an hour, combining strong services

with a clear advantage of size at the net. The Cubans held a huge margin in attacks (38-23) blocks

(11-2) and aces (6-2). Victor Andreu led a balanced attack of Cuba with 11 points, followed by

Alexei Ramírez and Reynier Ibar each with 9 and Luis David Allen with 8, including five blocks. For

Guatemala, David Ismalej and Jason Hernández finished with 9 and 8 points, respectively.

Mexico 3, Puerto Rico 1

Mexico claimed a direct ticket to the semifinals after a 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20) over

Puerto Rico in Pool B on Friday. The Mexicans finished with 2-0. Franky Hernández was the main

offensive weapon for Mexico with 22 points, including 4 aces, followed by Luis David Hernández

who contributed 16 points in the victory. Luis Ramón López and Aldo Zambrano each chipped in

with 8 points. Sebastián Negron shared with Hernandez the honors as best scorers of the match

with 22 points and four aces in the losing effort. Diego Rosich and Wilmer Hernández scored 14

and 10, respectively, for Puerto Rico.

Dominican Republic 3, Nicaragua 0

Dominican Republic secured the second place in Group A by defeating Nicaragua in consecutive

sets 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 25-20). After dominating extensively in the first set, the Dominican squad

played more relaxed and in the third set the coach Loren Rodriguez gave playing opportunities to

his reserves of the bench. Dawilin Méndez had 12 points as th best Dominican scorer, followed by

Bryan Turbides and Fuhit Edouard with 9 and 7, respectively. The Dominican side had a

tournament-high 12 ases.
