LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ACTIVITY REPORT 1. On Friday, October 29, 2021, just after 9:30am, Deputy Sam Adams responded to the Huck’s Travel Center in Kuttawa for a two-vehicle collision. His investigation revealed a 2022, Tyson Foods, Kenworth semi-truck/trailer driven by Marl Manning (61) of West Monroe, LA was attempting to park when he collided with a parked 2019 Ford F350. No injuries were reported in this collision. 2. On Friday, October 29, 2021, at 3:15pm, Deputy Seth P’Pool was dispatched to a two-vehicle injury collision one mile North of Eddyville on US 641. Deputy P’Pool’s investigation revealed a 2004 Toyota crossover operated by Laura McKinney (29) of Fredonia was North bound on US 641 when she lost control of her vehicle and left the right shoulder before overcorrecting and crossing the South bound lane and exiting the left shoulder. The McKinney vehicle then re- entered the South bound lane where it collided with a South bound 2012 Ford pickup truck operated by Cameron Guill (33) of Smithland. McKinney was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated by the Eddyville Fire Department. Upon being freed, she was transported to Lourdes/Mercy Hospital in Paducah by Lyon County EMS for serious injuries sustained in the collision. Once at the Paducah hospital, she was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Guill was evaluated at the scene by Lyon County EMS; however, he declined transport. Deputy P’Pool was assisted at the scene by the Eddyville Fire Department, Eddyville Police Department, Lyon County EMS, and Deputy Keith Suits. US Highway 641 was closed for approximately 1 ½ hours while the scene was cleared. Note: see attached photographs.
