NOTEWORTHY NEWS AND NOTICES

TRASH & RECYCLING PROGRAM PREFERRED PROVIDER For the many residents wanting improvements with the community’s trash and recycling program, we have good news!

The HOAs of Cottonwood/Palo Verde and Sun Lakes Country Club have been proactive these past months in exploring beneficial trash and recycling services that incorporates lower rates due to greater participation. We’re happy to announce Right Away Disposal (RAD) has been selected as the official Negotiated Exclusive Provider for our community. Over the past few years it has been our ultimate goal to endorse a sole trash provider with great focus toward reducing the wear and tear on our streets and eliminating heavy truck traffic, at the same time reducing rates with volume buying power through community participation. With the support of your Board, we endorse RAD as your trash and recycling provider. There are many benefits to this partnership that include lower rates and added service. Please read the following details of services:

The New Negotiated Rate and Service – Beginning November 1, 2020 All rates shown are “all-in,” no extra fees, set-up charge, surcharges or hidden fees

Trash - $19.99 for twice per week trash ($59.97 per quarter) – Monday and Thursday service Recycling - Optional Recycling is now $5.00 per month with trash service ($15.00 per quarter) – Every other Wednesday

Current RAD Customers: Question: How can I change my current service to obtain this negotiated price and service? Answer: Nothing! RAD will adjust your November 2020 invoice to reflect the new price of $19.99 trash and $5.00 for recycling,

billing total per month will be $24.99 ($74.97 per quarter). If you choose not to recycle you have until January 1, 2021 to cancel service. To cancel service please call (480) 983-9100, there will be no collection fees for recycling cart removal.

Please Note: No credits will be applied for unused recycling service for the period of November 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021.

New Customers: Question: How do I set up service? Answer: Homeowners not currently using RAD should call (480) 983-9100 and sign up with RAD as soon as possible. When calling

please tell your Customer Service Agent you are a resident in Sun Lakes and require new service. As a RAD customer all set-up fees and cart delivery charges will be waived until July 1, 2021.

Added Benefits and Negotiated Services with RAD: Your HOA has negotiated additional services with RAD at no additional cost: Bulk Service: Twice per year bulk pick-up service. Items such as furniture, landscaping, appliances, etc… will be picked up at your home

address at no charge. You must be a current RAD customer with an account in good standing. Bulk service dates will be announced through your HOA. To receive bulk pick-up service you must call and schedule by noon on the day before your elected bulk day service.

Location and dates to be determined at a later date and will be available on your community website or publications.

Rate Freeze: The HOA has negotiated a lock on rate increases for the remainder of 2020 and all of 2021. The following years will only incur a 3.5% cap, although increases are based on CPI and may be less. RAD has also agreed to remove all added fees and surcharges under this new agreement.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES IN OUR RESTAURANTS & BARS As we are adapting to the changes in our lives that COVID-19 has brought, it is very important that we all do our part to follow the mandates placed by our local authorities in keeping each other safe when dining in our restaurants.

The Food & Beverage staff have daily temperature checks, wear masks, wash their hands frequently and stay at home if they are not feeling well. Homeowners should also follow the guidelines set by the local authorities, so we can continue to operate:

wear a mask when not eating or drinking

no standing or congregating when tables are not available

limit parties to 10 or less

stay at home if you feel sick

I personally want to thank everyone for their ongoing support of food and beverage during these challenging times. Please continue using our curbside take out or dine in at the Palo Verde Restaurant.

I look forward to the cooler weather and inviting our winter visitors back.

Marshall Reichert, Food and Beverage Director

The scalping process is a very dusty job. Please try to stay out of the designated areas during scalping and protect yourselves and your property as appropriate.

TRASH & RECYCLING PROGRAM PREFERRED PROVIDER (Cont'd)

Why a sole trash provider? The benefits are overwhelming:

o Lower Rates (increased participation provides rate-lowering buying power) o Added Services (Bulk and Hazardous Waste collection for participating homeowners) o Reduction of heavy trash truck traffic – reduces wear and tear on streets and lowers the cost of road maintenance o Reduction of trash carts out every day of the week

The benefits listed above are the key parts of the proposal offered by RAD. Additional information will be provided in the near future. It is the hope that everyone will see the advantages of this program and participate. IronOaks has had RAD as their exclusive trash pickup service for quite a while.

Cancelling Your Current Service When contacting your current service provider please let them know your HOA is endorsing a sole trash provider and requesting homeowners to switch. They may request a “cart removal fee.” Argue this fee. In many cases they will dramatically reduce or eliminate it completely. They may also try to lower their rate to match RAD’s negotiated rate, but don’t be fooled. This offered rate will only be temporary and does not address the many other benefits of RAD’s service.

We trust you recognize the value of this program and will take the time to explore the benefits of a service that is unmatchable from other providers.

Added Services Include: o Bulk Service. Twice per year bulk pick-up service. Items such as furniture, landscaping, appliances etc. will be picked up

at your home address at no charge. o Annual Household Hazardous Waste Customer Appreciation Day for all RAD customers. o Rate Freeze. Negotiate price lock for 2020 and all of 2021.
