Buildings: 4 Classrooms schedule
by the Registrar’s Office: 34
Courses Scheduled each semester: ~400
MMC: Classrooms/Building Inventory
Johnston Center (17 classrooms): Main academic building where the majority of courses are held
Andrews Science Center (8 classrooms/labs): Math & Science classrooms and labs
Martin Hall (4 classrooms): Nursing, Criminal Justice, & Dramatic Arts classes
Gault Fine Arts Center (4 classrooms): Art, Music, and traditional classroom space
MMC: Schedule Submission Process Previous schedule is provided to
Program Coordinators and Division Chairs.
Each does a little different format.
Many request specific classrooms along with the schedule; however, unless specific needs (such as computer or science lab) are necessary, classroom assignments are done based on the cap of the course. For instance, a bigger section will get a bigger room.
Program Coordinators/Division Chairs are not guaranteed the requested rooms.
MMC: Schedule Timeline Emails are sent to Program Coordinators and Division
Chairs in mid-January and mid-August telling them the deadline for schedule submission. These are also posted on the “important dates” calendar sent to faculty each semester.
Draft schedules are due to the Registrar’s Office by the end of February and end of September.
Summer and fall schedules are created the first week of March and first week of October.
Draft schedules are sent to Division Chairs and Program Coordinators for review prior to publishing.
Schedules are published one to two weeks before Registration begins in late March and late October.
Room Scheduling Process Courses are plotted on a master room
grid (Excel file) as schedules are received.
Room request conflicts are resolved as they are received while schedules are being built.
Priority is given to larger classes. The majority of our classes (about 95%)
are offered in the regular MWF and TTh schedule.
