    Introduction

    Suspense rules human life. This suspense causes tensions,blood pressure related diseases, heart attacks and diabetes etc.

    This suspense creates friends and enemies. Suspense makes both

    attachments and detachments. It makes relatives. It makes

    relations. It is all and all.

    Expectations fill life in human beings. Human being lives in

    expectations. Expectations do increase bit by bit when they are

    fulfilled. Expectations come down when they fall short.

    No one wishes to be poor. No one wishes to die of hunger.

    No one wishes to be a mischief. No one wishes to take on crime.

    But, poor, differently able beings, crime committers, mischievous

    persons are around us. Hundreds die every day of hunger.

    Want a son to look after. Want a family to look after. Want

    enough wealth to enjoy. Wishes are endless. But most of them die

    in the initial stage itself.

    Disasters devastate nature from time to time. Human

    mistakes take the toll from time to time. Technology proves

    dangerous from time to time. Rains are life but they hardly struck.

    Human beings are completely confused. They do not know

    what happens in the next minute. The next minute is suspense.

    Who controls all these things? Who dictates all these things? Why

    it happens so? Why can’t we control them? Is there any way to

    control what is happening?

    Is this universe indefinite? Is there a beginning to it? Is it has

    an end? Why people are suffering differently?

    Who controls the universe? Can we call that force as God?

    Can Time be called as God or different? Why God not favors

    everybody alike? Is there a God? What is the starting and ending

    point of a living being? Who dictates the life of a living being?

    Who decides the next minute?

    A vast tradition of research in the west is going on since the

    middle of 15th

      century to know the universe, its genesis, factors

    behind it, its controller etc. Many contributed to this mission.

    Many are still contributing to it. Starting from Copernicus to

    Newton, Johannes Kepler to Albert Einstein, James Hopwood

    Jeans to the present day legend Stephen Hawking, there is a

    galaxy of personalities who worked in this space. They have

    discovered many things. They have explained many things. They

    have contributed a lot. They are behind the development of the

    present day science.

    The present (stage of) development in science is evident of

    their contribution.

    Unfortunately a major section of the universe was neglected.

    Major discoveries about the universe were left to decay. Major

    literature was compressed to be the literature for a section of

    people.

    No one is responsible for this state. Time is responsible for it.

    No one has direct or indirect role in burying the glory of the past.

    No doubt the modern development helped the humanity. No

    doubt the contributors are life breathers for many. No doubt the

    modern discoveries help the humanity a lot and strive for the

    welfare of living beings.

    But at the same time, there is a lot waiting our attention.

    Answers are available to many or all of our questions. The present

    day scholars are searching for answers to many questions which

    were already solved a long time back.

    This is not a blame game. There is no intention to say that all

    that discovered belongs to the neglected section. The only

    intention to express is that many of the unsolved problems or

    puzzles can be answered with collaborative study.

    Underline the wish

    There is a single element which is immortal and indefinite and

    everything else is mortal. The universe expands from that

    singularity and after a long gap comes back to the singularity.

    Expansion has the genesis. Expansion is not an unexpected

    event. It has a clear cut mechanism. Every bit of the universe is

    defined well. Not a tiny issue or thing can happen all of a sudden

    or unexpectedly. Each and every bit is defined and everything

    goes on accordingly. When all this goes on in a defined way then

    there is no need to control them.

    But the definition is invisible. The structure of the definition is

    hard to understand. That’s why everything holds that suspense.

    That suspense prevails everywhere. Someone tackle the suspenseand someone fall prey to it. That suspense controls mind and once

    mind comes out of the clutches of that suspense it reaches the

    top and joins the immortal.

    The present universe came into existence some 200 million

    years ago and the existence of the human beings date back to

    some three hundred thousand years. There is a need to look

    beyond the so called Vedic age. Experts fix the Vedic age at

    4000BC. There is no consensus in this issue.

    The present work emphasizes on the genesis of the universe

    but in a different manner. Different from the present daythoughts, different from present day inferences, considering the

    literature of earlier human history, considering the earlier

    concepts, respecting the modern views, respecting the modern

    discoveries, getting assistance of the present day facts an

    attempt has been made to peep into the ancient thoughts with a

    different perception.

    JYOTISH, known as Indian Astrology, plays a major role in this

    perception. Indian Astrology is itself an ocean of knowledge with

    an array of branches. The present presentation requires the help

    of some of its branches and rest is untouched to make the present

    work concise.

    Predictive astrology is a major branch of JYOTISH and it

    outwardly depends on the mathematical part which comes under

    the SIDDHANTA, another major branch of JYOTISH.

    Efforts and endeavors are made in the quest of thrust areasof research in ancient literature. At the same time the need of

    collaborative study has been considered. It is expected that the

    present work will be helpful in the area of research and

    development of most admired and highly neglected part of

    Human History.

    Deed

    Deed is the genesis of all living and non living

    beings. It makes things happen. People believe that its

    course of action is highly unpredictable. Not only its

    course of action, its nature and structure are also

    indefinable. Due to its nature it became pin point of all

    philosophies in the world

    Vivekananda says “the essence of all beings is

    same”. In the similar way deed is the seed of

    everything. There is a proverb in Hindiजैसी करनी

     

    वैसी

     

    भरनी   This  proverb has the support of dozens of

    Sanskrit verses.

    Sowed seed has multiple lives. That means it may

    give birth to any form of its nature. Let it be explained.

    A seed may lose its life in the soil. It may turn in to a

    plant and vanish. It may become a tree with a weak

    trunk. It may grow to an average size. It may become a

    giant tree and live long. It may become giant but fell

    prey to cyclone or any other disaster. This way an arrayof possibilities can be expected.

    In the same way, when one sows the seed in the

    form of deed he may face the consequences in the

    future in any form. But the ultimate truth is that he has

    to face the consequence. Here, it is inferred that the

    form of consequence depends on the condition of the

    deed just similar to the different forms of the tree took

    birth on the conditions of the seed. That means, the

    conditions prevailing at the time of deed will decide

    the form of the consequence.

    Generally deed is defined in three forms. One is

    accumulated, one is ripening and one is ongoing. Thesethree may have subsections or varieties but the

    undertone meaning of all expressions is same. The

    ongoing, with the passing of time, gets the form of

    accumulated and the accumulated gets the form of

    ripening when the time comes to deliver the

    consequences. Ripening deed is also known as fortune

    in simple terms.

    Accumulated

    Every deed produces consequences. Some actions

    have spontaneous results. For example A thrashes B

    and in reply B thrashes A. the second condition is B

    curses and leaves the place. In the first condition A

    faced the result. So deed does not produce any seed.

    But in the second condition A has not received theresult of his deed. That means the deed is awaiting the

    reply. In this condition, at a later stage, A will get the

    result of it. That means the seed took birth and in a

    similar form it will reach the owner of the deed (karta).

    This is called accumulation. The awaiting consequence

    is stored in the account of A.

    There is a small confusion. Sometimes people think

    that the reply may be in any form. But that not seemsso. The result might be in accordance of the seed. A

    seed of mango cannot produce apple. Not getting a

    spontaneous reply is also has a reason. Let the

    condition explained. A thrashed B. it’s not a

    coincidence. It is predefined and A has experienced or

    went through the deed he might have done in the

    past. In the second condition B not replied

    immediately. That means the ripening time may take

    place in future.

    This situation shows three forms of the deed.

    Thrashing B is present deed. Not replying the same

    gives birth to the seed. That means the seed is the

    accumulation of deed which ought to give its reply in

    future. In future when reply occurs then the deed iscalled fortune (prarabdha). These are the three forms

    of deed which create everything.

    The most interested point in scientific world, which

    people like the most to investigate, is the genesis of

    the universe. Not only Science and Scientists , the

    philosophers all over the world, also get their birth in

    this interest only.

    Investigations to know the cause of the creationgave birth to multiple sciences and thoughts. Though

    the human being is yet to know the reason behind the

    universe, he has already advanced in many directions.

    Still he has no clue of the universe. All the theories

    about it, uttered till date, are inferences only.

    Knowingly or unknowingly, everyone accept the

    deed as one and only cause behind the universe . ??

    Though the deed has been accepted as the genesis

    of all happenings it is not based on any confirmation, if

    looked in scientific way. Science requires proof. Proof

    depends on formulae with enough logic. Science

    cannot come to a conclusion in this matter without

    solving the genesis of the universe. It has a long way to

    go. As this discussion has no scientific value, till nosuch hypothesis has been formulated to investigate

    the matter.

    The base of Vedaic literature stands on this concept

    that the root cause of everything is the deed. This

    concept has been circulated to each and every corner

    of the Vedic civilization and consequently the

    traditions which are in existence in Bharat Varsha

    stand on the single reason. A keen observer can find it(the deed) as the essence or theme of the Ramayana

    and Mahabharata.

    This simple concept created two types of deed i.e.,

    deed and misdeed. (आमनः ितकूिलान परेषा ं न

    समाचरेत)् so the tradition accepts deeds and disowns

    misdeeds. The method which is used to differentiate

    the deed in to good deed and misdeed is called

    DHARMA.

    A deed with positive consequences is called good

    deed and vice versa. Positivity is also has a critical

    definition. The result of the deed may or may not be

    positive but at any cost it should not harm any one’s

    interest. If it has the least of harm in it then it cannot

    be considered as pure positive or good deed.

    Positive consequences may comprise some

    negative accepts and while the good is accumulated as

    good and the minor parts with negative sense will be

    accumulated negatively. The owner requires goingthrough both.

    Simple to say that every bit of positivity will

    accumulate positive deed and every bit of negativityaccumulate negative deed. There is one more variety

    of deed in existence which is called neutral deed which

    will be explained at a later stage. 

    Conclusion

    Though the deed has been accepted the cause of

    everything since time immemorial, the acceptance

    does not include any scientific evidences or proofs or

    any statistical data. So it requires a formula to be

    investigated and proved. Once it has been proved so, it

    can change the nature of human life. But, if it has to

    change the human life, then the cause to happen so

    must be the accumulated deed of the human being.

    Amazing! But it’s the truth accepted and well

    broadcasted in the Vedic World.

    Rebirth

    Three stages of deed and its array formation gave

    birth to the theory or concept of rebirth. Rebirth is the

    consequence of fortune (prarabdha). Fortune is the

    result or ripening stage of seed of the deed. So

    acceptance of the deed forces the acceptance of

    rebirth. Unless and until a living or nonliving being

    takes rebirth it cannot go through or experience the

    consequences of its deeds. So rebirth is an integral part

    of deed and it cannot be thought separately.

    Forms of rebirth 

    The form of rebirth is highly confusing though it is

    an interesting subject to discuss. The creatures on the

    earth including the human beings are stated to be

    eighty four lakh (8.4 million). All the forms of creatures

    are awaiting each and every body. That means each

    and every creature on the earth may take birth of any

    one or all of the forms of creature.

    How it is possible?

    Small explanations can brief the query. In our daily

    life we experience that millions of creatures lose their

    life within a span of a day. Many may last for days,

    some for couple of months and countable are in long

    lasting span of life. In this way the statement of getting

    all forms of life has some strength. Unless the rebirth

    concept is unproved, the theory of getting all or some

    of the forms of 8.4 million creatures cannot be denied

    or unaccepted.

    One more interesting thing is there. Except human

    being no other creature gets it deed accumulated. That

    means no consequences of actions of all creaturesexcluding human being are stored. That means they

    get the reply of each deed on the spot. Or it can be

    accepted that they go through the results of their

    previous deeds. This thought gives the conclusion that

    the birth of creatures and mini creatures except

    human being is just to pay off the previous deeds and

    at the end, once one pays of the misdeeds of the life

    he will get back the human life to try for a better

    position!

    So any hypothesis, formulated to investigate the

    genesis requires to consider the zero point where the

    total number of creatures conclude and from where

    they start upraising. It implies that the end of theuniverse can be defined as nil property of universe and

    starting of the universe consist the frame where all the

    exhausted properties will have a chance to get the

    rebirth. It is called state of singularity in present day

    science (!)

    Cycle of rebirth

    Acceptance of deed’s full structure as stated above

    gives birth to the concept of rebirth. The word itselfcontains an array. Array rarely comes to an end. But,

    according to the Vedic literature, the beginning and

    end of this array have been clearly defined. But this

    definition becomes ultimate only if one accepts the

    deed and rebirth concept. So the point to think or

    investigate or verify is the nature of rebirth.

    Rebirth can be accepted on the grounds of logic. But

    the present endeavor stresses to formulate a

    hypothesis to display it in modern style or scientific

    way.

    What are the logics?

    1.  When we remember something positive(previously happened to us), we get a flash on our

    face. Those moments can give a smile on the face.

    This can happen in any stage, weather we are

    awake are in sleep. A person with some past life

    experience can go through such phenomenon.

    But this happens in small children. A child with a

    past life of hardly two to three months also shows

    same activities. All of a sudden, while sleeping, hestarts smiling and sometimes starts crying without

    any physical reason. That means he has some

    previous experiences which make him to do so.

    What may be the previous experience of a child

    with two to three months of age? What memories

    he can have?

    2.  What is the difference between a child born at a

    millionaire’s home and a child born at a beggar’s

    home? Why one received the advantage of silver

    spoon by birth and why the second one is deprived

    of food also by birth?

    Logic can only work in such places. No scientificproofs can be submitted in this condition. Still, one

    cannot deny further research. Logic already proved

    on its base that the deeds of the both have forced

    them to take birth accordingly.

    In similar way the case of differently abled

    children who are deprived of some organs by birth

    can focus the light on the deeds. There is noanswer for the question why they were deprived?

    A married couple with a married life of 45 years

    with three to four tiers of the family raise question

    in the mind of a widow who lost his/her life

    partner in the middle of the life, what is wrong

    with me? Why I was deprived?

    3.  Everyone on the earth is a unique entity. This is a

    natural statement everyone who fails to know the

    reason of deprivation says. The differences in each

    and every individual always raise the question of

    present life. Somewhere hard work fails and no

    work give results, somewhere eligible gets out of

    the contest and other one gets the opportunity. Inall these conditions, the deprived try to blame

    others. They lose patience. They lose confidence.

    Some adopt wrong ways. Some become anti social

    elements etc. But it is also a natural answer that no

    one can remove the differences. No person. No

    government. No law. No movement. It has been

    proved in the long life span of human history. Then

    what causes all this mess? Who is responsible for

    this? What is the root cause of the difference? Canit be discussed? Can it be investigated? Can it be

    proved? Can it be thought of?

    4.  Human life is full of miracles. We say unexpected

    happenings as miracles. But why not miracles

    happen with each and every individual? The simple

    answer for these questions is previous deeds.

    If one thinks in this way he will get some millions of

    such situations. A small visit to the hospital shakes a

    person’s thoughts. So ultimately everyone comes to

    the conclusion that the happenings have some link to

    their own deeds. But this conclusion is not a result of

    study. This conclusion is not a result of aninvestigation. It is not the outcome of any formula.

    Neither has it depended on the statistics. Statistical

    data contains similar properties. In this matter no such

    classification can be made on the data collected.

    Ultimately a study on the rebirth concept is only left

    in the frame of investigation. But it is unpredictable by

    nature. No clue for the beginning and no clue of theend. In such a situation how it is possible to take it on.

    How the study can be formulated? How any hypothesis

    can take place?

    Conclusion

    Though everything seems out of range of study and

    investigation, the essence of available Vedic literature,

    lessons and concepts of Vedic literature undoubtedly

    has the potential to go through the subject. At the

    same time, the structure of modern science and the

    studies so far done by the western scientists add flavor

    to the possibilities of the study in this regard. So, a

    blend of east and west is the need of the hour and it isearly to say that the hypothesis has been formulated.

    Deed and rebirth

    As expressed earlier a different aspect is presented

    in this chapter. It’s an endeavor to make a platform

    which may enable the thought process to get an idea

    in this regard.

    According to Bhagavata Mahapurna –

     कम णा जायते  जतःु कमणै व िवलीयत।े 

     सु ख ंदुःखं भयं े मं कम णै िवाभपत।े। 

    िअत चेदीरः िकत ्फलययकम णाम।्

     कता रं भजते िसोप न कतु  ः भु ह सः।। 

    भागवत महापु राण , क .10, अयाय . 24, ो . 13-14 

    Karmana jayate jantuh

    karmanaiva praleeyate.

    Sukham duhkham bhayam kshemam

    Karmanaivabhipadyate.

    Asti ched eeswarah kaschid

    PhalaroopyanyakarmanamKartaram bhajate sopi

    Nahyakartuh prabhurhi sah.

    Bhagavata mahapurana, cant.10, cha.24, Stan. 13-14

    Creatures take birth from the deed. Creatures

    vanishe due to deed. Happiness, sorrow, fear, well

    being all is the outcome of deed only.

    If there is the Lord he is in the form of result of the

    deed only. He blesses the person with deeds and he isnot the lord of any other who do not perform the

    deeds.

    The first stanza declares the cause of the birth and

    death. It also describes the causes of happiness etc.

    Though a different meaning of the stanza can be done,

    it cannot be a valid one. There is a small chance to

    The second stanza clears the stand of the Lord. Lord

    or ISHWARA was clearly defined here. There is no lordoutside or there is no form of Lord. Then who is the

    lord. Lord is the result of your deed. Lord blesses him

    only who deeds. This definition takes to the lessons of

    Lord himself.

    Iswarah sarva bhootanam hriddesherjuna tishthati

     ईरः सवभू  तानां ेशे जु   न ितित। 

    How deeds are controlled and take birth?

     मन एव मनु यय पू  व िपाण शं िसत। 

    भागवत महापु राण , क .04, अया 29, ो 66 

    Mana Eva manushyasya poorvaroopani shamshatiBhagavata mahapurana, cant 04, chapter 29, stan.66

    Simply to say the mind controls the deeds. Mind is

    the genesis of all deeds. Mind is the ruler of the body.

    Mind dictates the body to make a deed. That means

    acts of the mind. Mind, known as chitta in vedic

    literature controls everything. It knows everything. It

    reminds everything. It dictates the living being what todo and what not to do. There is no significance of the

    personality. The mind holds everything.

    For example –

     जािनाम धम न च म े विृ ः 

     जानायधम न च मे ि नविृ ः 

     केिनाप देव ेन द िथते न  

     यथा िनयु िोम तथा किरोम। 

    These are the words uttered by the son of

    Dhritarastra. Duryoadhana  is the elder brother of

    kurus  and throws out the  pandus  from the kingdom.

    The story of Kurukshetra war is well known to all. The

    genesis of the war is the misdeed of Duryoadhana. But

    the words uttered by Duryoadhana  have great

    significance. At least they provide an outlook in the

    present endeavor.

    I know what is right and what is wrong (the

    DHARMA) but I fail to indulge in it. I have no tilt

    towards right and resistance towards wrong. I am

    forced by unknown lord who rests in my mind.

    Here, these words of Duryoadhana clearly state that

    the posture or personality of a living being cannot

    control its deed. It is the all-rounder mind, which

    knows everything, encourages doing anything. It

    decides the right and wrong depending on the stored

    seeds of the deed. It has the complete details or the

    data of the past deeds.

    Accepted by all

    Mind plays the key role in anyone’s life. This fact is

    accepted by all. The same is the story of psychiatry

    where experts try to heal the patients by regression.

    They let the patient take a tour of past deeds and once

    the tour is over the patient realize what has happenedwith him and what is happing and what to happen. The

    undertone of the concept is already expressed in the

    verses of Mahabharata.

    Role of Jyotish

    “All roads lead to Rome.”

    This proverb stands fit in the matter of the JYOTISH  

    in the present context. The course of action of deed is

    the base of Jyotish. Jyotish deals with deed only.

    A small description of JYOTISH   will help in

    understanding subject.

    What is JYOTISH

    It is the mostly admired subject of the present

    day with enough controversies and contradictions. It is

    a limb of the Veda and its original birth took place to

    meet out the requirement of Vedic rituals. Now it has

    been transformed to a different look and known as

    fortune teller only. The word mostly used for this inEnglish is astrology. But the difference between

    definitions of Astrology and JYOTISH prevent the use of

    word Astrology. So, at anywhere in this work, the word

    astrology should mean JYOTISH only.

    There are three major disciplines in  JYOTISH and

    the focus of discussion is on only one discipline. Hence,

    the needy part, well known as HORA SHASTRA  or

    predictive astrology, will be discussed here.

    What predictive astrology does?

    Karmarjitam poorvabhave sadadi yattasya panktim

    samabhivyanakti

    It expresses or brings to light the ripening time of

    negative and positive results (fruits) accumulated from

    the deeds in the past lives.

    How?

    “ फिलान हचारेण सू  चियत मिनीषणः ” 

    “ होरा िनम लचु षा ”

    “With the help of the planetary movements the

    expression is being made.”

    “With the eye of predictive astrology or HORA

    SHASTRA.

    Revise the whole

    We are in the middle of the discussion that deeds

    are the root cause of the genesis of the universe. Thisdiscussion requires the definitions of the root cause.

    Though defined well it failed to meet out the present

    day aspirations. The definition was completely based

    on logic and life experiences which are not fully useful

    for the purpose of investigation. Then the focus was

    turned to Vedic literature. It has clear cut definitions

    but they are limited to beliefs as we do fail to show

    them happen.

    Many references from Bhagavata Mahapurana

    throw enough light to the matter but still we feel we

    are unable to convince the present day formulas so the

     journey to formulizing the thought process is going on.

    Now a ray of hope is being seen in JYOTISH. This

    subject contains all the essences of the other subjects

    and demands the knowledge of Vedic literature to go

    through it. Sometimes, some of the scholars tend to

    say that everything is included in Jyotish only. There is

    a section of scholars who declare that there were only

    two subjects in the ancient India and they were Jyotish

    and Ayurveda. All other subjects are classified under

    these two heads. Keeping the developments in mindthe focus has been turned to a part of JYOTISH which is

    called predictive astrology from this point onwards.

    Predictive astrology

    The main theme of the subject is fortune telling. It

    can predict all the three parts of time i.e., the past,

    present and the future. If someone feels that miracles

    happen or miracles can be made by a fortune teller

    then the story ends there. Prophesy consists no

    miracles. The process of prophecy making is not

    baseless.

    Prophesy making has its fixed definition as

    expressed earlier. The stored data, also called

    accumulated deed, of the person being analyzed andthe expected outcome of the time is expressed. To

    analyze and express the past deeds, predictive

    astrology uses the longitudes of the planets.

    In general people try to compare JYOTISH and

    Astrophysics. The base of the both is different. As the

    base is different the outcome of the comparison is alsodifferent. This type of comparison forces the learned

    people to state that the Indian astrology is not a

    science.

    What is the base of predictive astrology and how it is

    different from present day science or astrophysics?

    The longitudes of the planets are considered to

    predict the ripening outcome of the past deeds of a

    native or a person. The planetary longitudes are geo

    centric and reflect the happenings on the earth. So it is

    clear that the system or base considered here is geo

    centric and it is completely different from the present

    day heliocentric system. The objective of predictive

    astrology can be achieved only with the help ofgeocentric planets (due to inter-relationship of earth

    and planets).

    The same is in the matter of planets. The modern

    definition of planet is not valid in the context of

    astrology. Here the planet is called the GRAHA. The

    definition of this word is a celestial body which crosses

    or catches the constellations. So in respect of the

    earth, sun and moon are also planets.

    The modern astrology or astrophysics dealt with the

    study of the celestial bodies, their nature, their

    movements and their inter relations etc. but in the

    Indian context we need geocentric expressions of

    celestial bodies only. That means there is no

    comparison between Indian astrology known as

    bharatiya jyotisham and modern astrophysics. The

    base of Indian Astrology is geocentric planetary system

    where as the base of the modern science is the

    heliocentric planetary system. Both are different

    sciences and forcible comparison of two dissimilar

    subjects is not a valid one.

    Nature of movement of planets

    Total universe is observed in the context of earth

    and a single ecliptic zodiac covers it. Irrespective of

    their distances the discs of all planets are observed in

    it. The total sphere is divided in to twelve equivalent

    parts and each division in to thirty parts. These thirty

    parts are equivalently divided to sixty parts and so on.

    These parts and subparts of the sphere are very similar

    to the divisions of time. This division is crucial in timereckoning also. This system and these divisions

    enabled Indians to calculate time and maintain

    panchangams since time immemorial.

    The concept of the sphere and the system of

    divisions are well uttered in Vedic hymns and the

    knowledge of universe was complete in the Vedic Age.

    The references available in this regard in Rig Veda

    show that the Vedic Rishis had complete authority on

    the sky. (A brief of the same is available in “the

    scriptures of the heavens”).

    The divisions of the sphere reflect the angle at

    earth’s center. The metrics both at the center and onthe sphere are similar to each other. Among the

    planets there are two disguising elements. They are

    called the dark planets with no visibility. They are Rahu

    and Ketu which are well known as ascending node and

    descending node. These nodes have been considered

    as planets as they play crucial role in deciding the fate

    of creatures.

    The nodes too reflect the consequences of the

    deeds hence they have been ascribed the place of

    planets. Indian seers have enough knowledge of the

    nodes and they haven’t misspelt them anywhere. It is

    quite evident in Bhaskaracharya’s verseराः

     

    कभामडलगः  शशाक  etc.

    The comment of ignorance in the matter of sun and

    moon as planets is invalid. There is no such ignorance

    and the theory of genesis of universe laid down in the

    astrology has the potential to guide the modern

    investigations. But, unfortunately, no such efforts are

    being made by the present day scholars.

    How the undertone is equivalent

    “Our souls may take on a million different forms.

    We can become lion or dandelion, plant or person. If

    we have assumed a human form, we can be any color,

    any race, and any sex. Whichever form we choose,

    underneath the surface we are exactly the same. We

    are all connected; we are all the same substance and

    energy, born of the same source, composed of thesame spiritual material” – Dr Brein Weiss, Psychiatrist.

    To understand the oneness in all, the genesis of the

    universe and the concept of Jyotish are required. So

    according to the context, both are presented here in

    simple and systematic way.

    The genesis of the universe

    At the end of the universe the one and only

    immortal element stayed was the Aniruddha, the sun.

    This sun is different from that one who provide us

    energy and who is one among the planets. Then there

    happen a golden egg. Brahma, the creator came out of

    the egg. Sun emerged from his eyes and Moon fromthe mind.

    Then the creator created the five elements from his

    mind in the sequence of sky (AAKASH), air (VAYU), fire

    (AGNI), water (AAPA), earth (PRITHIVI). These five have

    the incremental property of characters. The sky has

    the characteristic property of sound only. The air has

    both sound and touch, the fire has sound touch and

    shape, the water has sound touch shape and taste, andthe earth has the five characteristic properties named

    sound, touch, shape, taste and smell. 

    अथ सृ ा मन ाहकारमूतभृत्।  

    मनसमा जे सूयणोत ेजसा ििनधः।।  

    मनस ः ख ततो वायुिररापो धरा मात् ।

     गुणैकवृया प ैव महाभूितान िजरे।।  

    सूयिसात, भूगोलायाय  

    The five planets known as star planets are made up

    of the five elements respectively. That means the Marstook birth from fire, mercury from earth, Jupiter from

    sky, Venus from water and Saturn from air. Sun is in

    the form of fire and the Moon in the form of Water.

    अीषोमौ स ूय चौ ततवगारकादयः।

     

    तेजोभूखाबु वातेयः मशः प ज िरे।।

    5 elements and all

    Each and every object including all the creatures in

    the universe are made up of five elements namelyearth – water – light - air- sky. Every object consist

    them but in different ratios. This simple reason gives

    thumbs up to the idea that everything started at a

    single point and everything will collapse to that singlepoint at the end. 

    Planets are also made up of the same. In the

    process of evaluation expressed above the elements

    come in existence before the existence of the five starplanets. Sun and moon have given different place. So

    people belonging to ancient times also accept sun and

    moon different from other planets. In such situations,

    comparing the modern and ancient on these

    parameters, have no valid ground.

    Back to the genesis

    The creator spent 47400 divine years in creating all

    the living and non living objects. 47400 divine years are

    equivalent to 17064000 solar years. This number has

    no significance until it is proved that the evaluation of

    the universe require such a long time. We do not even

    have a history of 4000 years and in this small span oftime also we have many contradictions. Though it is

    accepted by all that the Vedic literature is the oldest

    one in this world no consensus was found in dating the

    same.Balagangadhar Tilak wrote a book called the

    antiquity of the Vedas  in the last decade of 19th

     

    century which is also known as Orion. Orion is a

    famous constellation known as MRIGASHEERHSA in

    JYOTISH. A small part of a verse in the GEETA forced

    him to think about and as a consequence he brought

    out a book called in this name. In this book Tilak tried

    to fix the date of the Veda depending upon the

    location of the equinox. But at the end he passed on

    the duty to the Sanskrit scholars and the task is still

    incomplete.

    So one major issue which can fetch ground for the

    positive step in the right direction is the time spantaken by the creator to evaluate the living and non

    living objects. So the number 17064000 is crucial here.

    Sources of Planetary movement

    Planets move or rotate in the ecliptic sphere

    called the zodiac. But they all differ in their motion.

    The linear motion of all celestial bodies is same but

    they differ in the angular velocity. The main cause of

    the difference in their angular velocity is their distancefrom the center of the earth. Besides the distance,

    some specific points on the sphere also cause the

    difference in their velocity. They are different for each

    and every planet. These points are called apogees of

    two types and one pata (conjunction).

    Why to know the sources of velocity?

    The angular velocity of every planet is ruled and

    controlled by the points quoted above. In the present

    context they have some significance. All these factors

    of motion move themselves also. That means these

    points are not static and have specific movement.

    When the creator allowed the universe to start the

    motion all these factors of planetary motion along with

    the planets stand at a unique point. There was no east-

    west or south –north difference between them. After

    that, each and every individual move in its route with

    its unique angular velocity. The single point position of

    all of them marks the beginning of the universe.

    The process of movement of all these elements

    continue for a specific time period and at the end all of

    them come to the same single point where they were

    at the time of the beginning of the universe. It is the

    end of the universe.

    Well defined time – frame

    Thus, astrology strictly explains the nature of the

    universe and the starting and ending points of the

    same. It starts at a point. Then expands to an extent

    before coming to an end at the very point where it

    started the journey some time back.  These are

    narrated in the JYOTISH in a mathematical way.

    teaching is same and takes to the ultimate.

    The planetary system explained here is used to

    express the results of the deed. That means each and

    every pixel of the frame is defined to its minute state.

    A lot of exercise, since the beginning of this book,performed just to convince that nothing is undefined in

    this universe, even universe also. Everything is

    predefined and everything itself responsible for its

    stage and state. Mind rules the deed and deed rules

    This is a common rule that without the permission

    of Lord even a piece of gross cannot shake or move. It

    is clear from the quoted verses of Bhagavata that

    Ishwara (the lord) is none other than the deed or result

    of the deed.

    A book named mysterious universe by James

    Hopwood Jeans show many ways to think the course

    of action of deed. Apart from other matters, the book

    explains radiation and matter. It resembles the rebirth

    and incarnation system. It gives a hope to go ahead.

    This book states the time elapsed since the forming

    of the present universe. It is stunning because the time

    frame inferred by the writer matches with the number

    given in the SURYASIDDHANTA for the same purpose.

    The explanation of universe and the narration of the

    systematic movement of the universe remind the

    general meaning of the PURUSHA SUKTA of RIGVEDA.

    A small book in English, THE SCRIPTURES OF

    HEAVENS, written by G V A Raghava Rao attracts in

    much better way. It explains Rigveda in context of

    JYOTISH and provides inner view. It encourages the

    blended study of east and west.

    The views of Dr Brain Weiss, a psychiatrist, confirm

    the thought that the mind is all and all. The mind canexpress thousands of past lives. Besides, it confirms

    the oneness of all. The concept of many lives one soul

    makes the journey easier.

    The master piece of Mr Hirabhai Thakkar “thetheory of Karma” provides essence of many ancient

    works and makes the study easier. The narration of the

    deed made in this book reconfirms the hypothesis that

    the deed is the genesis of all.

    Last but not least, it is the Nobel laureate Stephen

    Hawking, who plays a vital role in creating an

    understanding of the concepts of the universe. The

    way he presents the science in a simple way makes it

    easier to have an elaborative and collaborative study.

    A simple reading of “The Theory of Everything”

    approves the thought of predefinition. The first hand

    information provided in this work about universe

    convinces that the whole universe is predefined and

    there is nothing which is not defined.

    “A Brief History of Time” by the same author

    makes a student of JYOTISH more energetic and it

    creates interest in ancient works. It does not mean

    that the writer pens anything about Indian astrology or

    time reckoning system. In this book the author explains

    Time in such a way that the curiosity to know more

    about the same takes birth and consequently study of

    ancient texts with full of details about the time will find

    the readers.

    The system of predictive astrology provides inner

    view of the nature of the universe which depends on

    the deed. The time reckoning system of Indianastrology explains the nature of the universe. The

    concept of predictive astrology explains the nature and

    structure of the deed. The lessons of Lord in

    Bhagavadgeeta, Bhagavata etc. will provide the insight

    of the creator. A blend of all these things will help in

    Chances to redefine

    Cultures all over the world, traditions all over the

    earth, insist many customs which are meant to fulfill

    expectations and transform negative to positive.

    A native should go through his deed. He cannot

    escape the fruits of his deed. It’s a common law of

    deed. But, since time immemorial, human being

    follows many methods to avoid the negative fruits of

    the deed.

    All the efforts, of any custom or tradition, will result

    in weakening the intensity of the fruits of deed only. It

    needs to be explained in brief.

    Fasting, chanting, repeating etc are some practices

    to receive the blessings of Lord. It is commonly

    believed that the Lord, in reply, blesses by decreasing

    the negative impact and increasing the positive impact

    of the deed. The result of deed never changes. The

    structure of deed never changes. But the intensity or

    force of action comes down in line with the power of

    tool applied.

    An example –

    A man committed a deed and he has to face deathfrom an elephant. He makes all efforts to avoid the

    disaster. One day he comes across the elephant. It

    makes him run and the man, without any break, runs

    to avoid the giant. At last, the elephant catches him

    with its trunk, moves in the air, hits him to the groundand in the last moment keeps its leg on his chest and

    rubs him on the ground.

    The man, all of a sudden, falls on the ground from

    the bed, feared and completely wet with sweat. He

    could meet the death if the dream had continued forhalf a minute more. The body faced the horror. The

    key point of the life, the mind, shacked to the worst

    extent. Each and every part of the body comes under

    high pressure.

    An attempt of murder took place. The impact of the

    result of deed faced. But the intensity of the act came

    down due to the efforts of the person.

    This example has been given in the annexure to the

    commentary of siddhant tattva viveka . Thecommentator, respected Gangadhar M ishra , explains

    the logic behind the process of redefinition of deed.

    Logical but not proved yet

    A vast tradition of India always insists the effort to

    be made. All around the Indian society it is

    experienced that it happens. This argument is not

    against the nature of law or nature of deed. Efforts

    never eradicate the incident but weaken it. Happening

    is unavoidable. But the intensity of the happening can

    be brought down. So redefining of the predefined ispossible. Ultimately it can be said that Jyotish enables

    to redefine the prarabdha., i.e., fortune or the third

    stage of deed.

    Conclusion 

    Why not happened?

    This is a simple question any one can ask. Why

    thousands of years not utilized for a simple cause?

    Here is the answer.

    The modern science also believes that the universeis expanding. They do not have such time frames as

    stated in JYOTISH and due to some major reasons they

    do not include the points raised in JYOTISH. The need

    of the hour is to convince the researchers about the

    thrust areas and scope of research in JYOTSH,especially the scope of research in the field of universal

    truths.

    What makes JYOTISH inferior?

    1.  Limited access to JYOTISH makes it a fortune

    teller’s property.2.  Flavor of religion stops its liberal nature to adopt

    by others.

    3.  Most of the theories and fundamentals wrongly

    narrated and propagated. Consequently people

    know it as a pseudo science only.4.  Lack of collaborative study.

    that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason. For
