I am submitting this application t o request tha t the building envelope on my block of land (address above) be enlarged as discussed with you a t a recent meeting. I have enclosed the appropriate documents requested.

I have attached a floor plan for t he house I wish t o build. I am also requesting permission to cover the pergolas a t the rear including the clothes line area. This will provide shade and outdoor living space plus weather protection as it is a westerly aspect and there are no trees to break the sun.

I have provided the area calculations supplied by my Building Consultant (Russell Bowey) and he is available to answer any questions you may have regarding the plan and measurements. His email is

I am hopeful tha t you will look favourably on my application as I have seen a number of houses which have been built recently in Creswick which do not seem to have as much outdoor living space. Hi Margaret,

I have attached a Sketch (SK-01) o f the proposed East Elevation o f your cottage. You wil l notice I have included many traditional features and I am happy to modify the 'look' o f the building to have a more modem appearance i f you wish.

You wil l also notice that I have a lower roof / ceiling over the garage to reduce the bulkiness o f that roof so that it isn't overpowering the cottage roof.

I have included a cantilever 'hood' roof in front o f the bay window (which was often a feature o f these type o f cottages). I have also changed the verandah post locations and widened the bay window to the Bedroom

for a better 'balance' to the facade. The main ceiling is 3.Om high and the roof pitch is 30 deg.
