parents and students to note, in particular the commencement of the GCE ‘N’ Level Exam from 12 Sep (Tue). Annexes A1 to A4 provide a summary of the End-of-Year Assessment Schedule and Key School Activities in Term 4 (by levels).

GCE ‘N’ LEVEL EXAM – CHANGES IN TERM 4 TIME-TABLE 2. The school reporting and dismissal times for Sec 1-4s will be adjusted in Term 4 Weeks 1 to

5, especially for Sec 4s and on N-Level/ISC Examination days (see Annex A4). Sec 4 students will have a revised class timetable during this period. The schedule is shown in the Table below and will be posted on the school’s FB page and noticeboard near the school canteen:

ONE-WAY MORNING SHUTTLE BUS SERVICES FOR STUDENTS (TERM 4) 3. The school will continue with the free one-way morning shuttle bus service in T4 for students

who reside in Yew Tee, Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Gombak. In addition, the school will start a second free one-way morning shuttle bus service for students residing in parts of Jurong West. Both shuttle bus services will run from 11 Sep, Mon (first school day of T4) to 1 Nov, Wed (last school day of T4). If students’ response to the shuttle bus services is good, the school may continue to offer the shuttle bus services in 2018.

• *Timing in brackets are for Thursdays when school start-time is at 9.10 AM (unless otherwise advised). WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME@F1 (WEP@F1) 5. This year, about 20 Sec 3 students will participate in the WEP@F1 on 15-17 Sep (Fri-Sun) at

the Mandarin Oriental Singapore (MOSIN). The WEP@F1 is an annual school partnership programme that enables our students to apply what they have learned in school in an authentic work environment i.e. the Singapore Grand Prix: Singapore Formula 1 (F1) Night Race. Selected students will receive the necessary instructions from Mdm Sumiate (EL Dept) separately. These students will be excused from lessons on 18 Sep (Mon).

CCA STAND-DOWN 6. In view of the upcoming year-end assessments, all afternoon CCA activities for Sec 3

students will stand down from Week 4 (2 Oct, Mon), and for Lower Sec students from Week 5 (9 Oct, Mon). The last Wednesday morning CCA session for Sec 3 students is 4 Oct (Wed), and 11 Oct (Wed) for Lower Sec students.

END-OF-YEAR ASSESSMENT 7. The End-of-Year Assessment for Sec 3 will start from 6 Oct (Fri), while that for Lower Sec will

start from 16 Oct (Mon). 26 Oct (Thu) is Marking Day; students need not report to school on that day. The End-of-Year Assessment schedule for Sec 1-3 is in Annexes A1-A3.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENTIAL PROGRAMME (IEP) 8. All Sec 3 students will be participating in the IEP from 23 Oct to 19 Nov. The IEP is a

compulsory component of the ISC, during which students are attached to various companies for work exposure and learning. The school will assign teacher mentors to supervise the students’ performance and well-being. Students’ IEP performance will be assessed by the company supervisors. Fri). Selected Sec 1 and Sec 2 students will be involved in the programme. More information on the programme will be given to students in T4.

students to Cebu City, Philippines with students from Meridian High School, Philippines 2018 SCHOOL-BASED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEME (SB-FAS)

12. FTs will disseminate the 2018 SB-FAS application forms to all Sec 1-3 students in Term 4 Week 1. The SB-FAS application form, together with valid supporting documents, must be submitted to the school by 29 Sep (Fri). Students will be informed of the outcome by end-October.

DEEPAVALI 13. Deepavali falls on 18 Oct (Wed). Hindu students will be dismissed from school at 10.30 am on

17 Oct (Tue), eve of Deepavali. The school would like to wish all Hindu staff, students and parents Happy Diwali.

FINAL NOTE 14. While T4 is a shorter school term, it is an important one as students will be taking the end-of-

year assessments, which will affect their progression to the next level. We thus request parents/guardians to supervise and encourage your child/ward to stay focused on his/her revision.

15. To our second graduating batch of Sec 4 students, we’d like to wish you the very best in your

performance at the GCE ‘N’ Level Exam and ISC.
