following a major £8 million restoration and redevelopment programme, Bexhill’s famous De La Warr Pavilion incorporates full fire protection utilising a Notifier by Honeywell iD2000 system.

the Pavilion, built in 1935 in the Modernist style, re-opened in october 2005 with the support of Arts Council and Heritage Lottery funding and today incorporates a 1,000 seat theatre, restaurant and bar and one of the largest contemporary art galleries in the South east.

“it was essential to provide an addressable, L2-graded fire protection system which met all current building requirements including BS5839 certification,” confirms Colin Chadwick, commercial director at Notifier engineered Systems Distributor (eSD), Sovereign Alarms.

the standard 2 loop capacity of the iD2000 is ideal for smaller installations and the system can easily be expanded to up to 8 loops for larger buildings. this modular design allows a system to be tailored to the precise needs of a site and offers a ready-made expansion path as part of a highly future-proofed solution.

‘Auto-Learn’ facilities allow the user to install and commission a standard system with the minimum of effort. A more complex ‘Cause & effect’ matrix can simply be programmed to meet individual site requirements such as plant shutdown, fire door control, smoke control, phased evacuation, point/zone isolation, point-to output controls and many others.
