EASTER SUNDAY

REJOICE AND BE GLAD

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad" (Psalm 118:24). Let us remember that these words of today's responsorial psalm are not only sung from the hearts of those gathered in our parish. They are also sung by the poor in tiny barrios throughout Central and South America. They are sung by

those denied religious freedom in our world; these Christians lift their voices in clandestine places of worship. These words are sung by people who have lost loved ones to acts of terrorism and war around the globe. Even in the midst of conflict and division, Christians still come together to declare that poverty, loneliness, violence, and division will never, ever have as much power as the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Indeed, let us rejoice this day and be glad!

CRS RICE BOWL: ENCOUNTER THE RISEN CHRIST

We prayed, fasted and gave alms—and now we celebrate Easter joy! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl ends as we encounter our risen Lord. We reflect on our brothers and sisters whom we have walked with in India, Zambia, El Salvador, Mexico, Ethiopia and Hawaii. And we commit to bring Easter joy to each person we meet in our daily lives. Don’t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl at the table in our Gathering Space, or bring to our Parish Office. Bless you!

WOMEN'S GUIDED MEDITATION

Women of our faith community, please join us for our Women's Guided Meditation, an opportunity to refresh your spirit and strengthen your faith. We will meet Wednesday, April 19, 7:30-8:30pm in our Resource Room. Bring a friend!

SHEPHERD'S CALL: Making Mass time count - for you AND your little one!

Would you welcome a safe, Christ-centered environment for your young child, while

you fully participate in the Mass?

Our Shepherd's Call ministry is ready and eager to serve some of the youngest members of our flock and their families! Shepherd's Call gives parents the opportunity to attend 9am or 10:30am Sunday Mass without distractions, while their little ones (1—4 years of age) are offered a safe environment of loving Christian care and spiritual nurturing in our Youth Ministry Rm.

Advance registration is needed to participate in Shepherd's Call to ensure sufficient ministers are available to serve the little ones each Sunday. For more information, please visit our website at www.ndcarmel.com, or contact Kelli White at [email protected].

IS THIS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE AT NOTRE DAME?

Greetings, and thanks for coming!! We are glad you joined us this weekend. We hope you found our time together inspiring, meaningful,

challenging and perhaps even a little fun. We certainly enjoyed having you with us!

We hope this opportunity will lead to many others so that we can get to know each other better. Jesus said, “Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.” (John 4:14) We do trust and hope that you’ll find watering holes in our midst to fill your thirst again and again.

We warmly invite you to drop by our offices for a visit during the week, or to give us a call (973-538-1358, ext. 105) so we can schedule some time to visit at your convenience.

In the meantime, if there is anything we can do to be of service, please don’t hesitate to call or drop us a line (contact information for our staff and ministry leaders is found on the cover of this bulletin and also on our website at www.ndcarmel.com). We hope you will join us again!

T S C

We pray for the G K for you: that you may be smart about yourself and others, that your vision will be 20/20 about life, and that God will touch your heart.

We pray for the G U for you: that you will be able to untie the knots of life, that you will become non-judgmental, and that God will expand your heart to love and care as God does.

We pray for the G W for you: to catch on to the mystery and truth of life and to find God in the restless, empty, quiet, or crowded moments.

We pray for the G C for you: that as you walk in this world, you feel prepared and that you might give God all your questions, struggles, hurts, and disappointments.

We pray for the G P for you: that you will know a reverence and respect for everything and a piety that will teach you to pray, to forgive, and to build a relationship with God.

We pray for the G W A (Fear of the Lord) for you: that your attitude toward God is open, humble, and hopeful, and that you are always enthusiastic about God’s presence.

We pray for the G C for you: that you will seek help when you need it and give help when others need it. I pray that this gift helps you make morally good choices that are healthy for your life.
