Countable and un countable nouns grammar

The nouns can be classify in countable and uncountable nouns. As its name said, the countable noun can be count and can write in singular and plural for example:

Los sustantivos pueden ser clasificados en contables e incontables. Como su nombre lo indica, los sustantivos contables son aquellos pueden contarse y que pueden escribirse tanto en singular como en plural. Por ejemplo:

Singular Plural

Car Cars

Baby Babies

We normally use a/an before a singular countable noun, for example:

A car An elephant A baby An hour

Normalmente usamos a/an antes de un sustantivo contable en singular, ejemplo:

A car An elephant A baby An hour

Countable and uncountable nouns grammar

The countable nouns can not be count and only can write in singular, such as:

A diferencia de los sustantivos contables, los incontables no pueden ser contados y sólo poseen la forma singular, tal como:

Water

Money

Rice

We normally use the uncountable nouns as singular. We use a singular verb, for example:

Normalmente usamos los sustantivos incontables como singular. Usamos un verbo in singular, por ejemplo:

This news is very important.Your luggage looks heavy.

We do not usually use the indefinite article a/an with uncountable nouns. We cannot say "an information" or "a music". But we can say a something of:

Normalmente no usamos el artículo indefinido a/an con sustantivos incontables. No decimos una información o una música . Pero podemos decir un/una _______ de a piece of news a bottle of water a grain of rice
