Our Products
Novares resins are thermoplastic hydrocarbon resins based on petrochemical and carbon feedstock. With innovative product solutions and logistical concepts and a high level of flexibility we can adapt to a large range of individual custo-mer needs. Our clients can choose from a broad selection of different resins with a wide range of softening points. We can deliver these products in solid or in liquid form and all can be tailor-made to your special requirements. Ruetasolv are non-reactive modifiers based on naphthalene or biphenyl and are suitable for use in water-based, Epoxy and PUR adhesives. They are colourless, odourless and chemically inert.
Delivery Forms
– pastilles supplied in paper bags, big bags with the RIGK logo
– molten resin in heatable tankcontainer – liquid resins in drums or IBCs, or by tanktruck – dissolved in solvents.
Our production processes, application technology and mar-keting system are of course certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001 quality and environmental standards.

Novares in aPao-adhesives
Woodworking Adhesives
Highly compatible aliphatic C5 resins are mainly used in the manufacture of hot melt adhesives based on nonpolar polyolefins. The following improvements are obtained by adding aromatic Novares resins, in this case TV 120:
– increased thermal stability– reduced open time– and less legging effect.

Novares resins for Dispersion adhesives
Novares is the brand to use for dispersion adhesive systems based on acrylate, PVAc, VAE and SBR. Modifiers now have to meet a new set of requirements, including ageing resistance and a low-emission properties. Novares LS 500 liquid resin do just that. This product is used as co-solubiliser for rosin and rosin esters in the manufacture of dispersion adhesives to Emicode EC1 standards.

Novares resins for solvent based adhesives
Novares resins offer the following advantages:
– adjustment of open time – improved adhesion and cohesion – increased thermostability – improved oxidations/ageing resis-
tance compared with natural resins – hydrophobic character – adjustment of viscosity, thermo-
plasticity and pseudoplasticity

Novares and ruetasolv for reactive adhesives
Liquid reactive systems
Novares resins have proved particularly effective for the ma-nufacture of 1K PUR / 2K PUR / silane-terminated adhesives for the following applications:
– floor coverings – technical and industrial bonding – timber construction and joinery work – primer
The aromatic modifiers Novares and Ruetasolv DI have the following benefits:
– adjustment/reduction of viscosity i better wetting properties
– increased aromaticity i improves water hydrophobicity i reduced permeability
– better bonding to different substrates – adjustment of open time
i processing time – reduces water absorption after curing – adjustment of strength
1K PU-systems
Using Novares or Ruetasolv produces the following positive results:
– high barrier effect against water/moisture – improved adhesion – increased solid content – greater flexibility – rheological control – improved filler and pigment wetting

In bath and kitchen areas there are strong demands for ad-hesives giving heat, humidity and water resistance. Novares resins act in reactive PU adhesives as modifiers for the
– improvement of open time– adjustment of compounding viscosity.
The hydrophobic character of Novares resins has a positive effect on the water resistance of the adhesive.

Novares resins for Pressure sensitive adhesives
PsA Hot melt Adhesives with Block Copolymers (sIs)
For permanently tacky products we recommend a range of Novares resins. These resins increase
– heat stability (SAFT) – shear strength – peel strength – initial tack
How the application properties of an sIs-based hot melt adhesive can be influenced with 10% Novares resin
By using high-softening resins the thermostability of an SIS formulation can be increased.
Using Novares improves initial tack, peel strength and shear strength. As a result properties such as increased endblock-reinforcement can be developed in a targeted way.
