Abortion Performed on Wrong Woman
A tragic case is under investigation in Seoul, South
Korea, after a doctor mistakenly performed an abortion
on the wrong patient. CNN & CAN reported. The
Vietnamese woman, who was pregnant with her 6 week
old baby, went to the gynecology clinic to receive a
simple vitamin shot. However, the nurse accidentally
switched her papers with another patient’s & injected her
with anesthesia instead. In a second act of negligence,
the doctor failed to confirm the woman’s identity. She
fell asleep & woke up to a tragedy. Additionally, abortion
is not legal in South Korea, laws are under revision. The
tragedy is twofold — namely, the death of an innocent
life & a mother’s loss, & the fact that this accident was
possible at all.
