Seeds of Ministry Nuggets

Jesus said "Whoever wishes to become great among

you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be

first among you must be slave of all. For the Son of

Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give

his life a ransom for many." Following Jesus doesn’t

mean being powerful like government leaders, rulers,

or other leaders. It’s all about servant leadership.

Jesus is so deep, and we can be so shallow. to lead is

to serve; to serve is real leadership.

Welcome to Redeemer Lutheran!

We are a diverse faith community of people always learning what it means to live a life of discipleship. We are Christian—worshiping and teaching in the Lutheran (ELCA) tradition. We are Republican, Democrat, and Independent; we live across the

street, around the corner, in the Hartford area, and in the nearby countryside. We work in schools, factories, offices,

fields, and hospitals. We are laborers, students, retired, and unemployed. We range in age from the newly born to seniors. We come from backgrounds of Catholic and Protestant, while

some are discovering church for the first time. We come together with our joys and sorrows, our faith, and our

doubts. When we worship together, sing together, study the Bible together, fellowship together – we love and support one

another to become one body of Christ. No matter who you are, no matter where you are on life’s journey…

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!

November Special Giving Backpacks for Homeless Veterans

November’s special giving is to fill backpacks for homeless veterans. Often, veterans face challenges transitioning to civilian life, and finding jobs and places to live. We wouldn't have our freedoms without the veterans making sacrifices. Redeemer would like to help St. John’s Lutheran Church in West Milwaukee by filling string bag backpacks to give to the homeless veterans. St. John’s is active in helping homeless veterans in many ways, like providing food, clothes, companionship, health screenings, a barber, books, and a pastor. To help fill the backpacks, and as the weather gets colder, some of the items that the homeless veterans need are emergency blankets, socks, hats, gloves, and scarves. Other items needed include toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and chapstick. -Owen Otto, Confirmation

The third Sunday of every
