A Publication of Hobe Sound Christian Academy F rom the PrincipalWhen I was in Germany back in 2017, I was privileged to see some original paintings by the famous Reformation painter Lucas Cranach. While walking through the Wartburg Castle, I saw the marriage portraits of Martin and Katharina. e tour guide told me that these were the original paintings, and throughout his presentation to me, he frequently said that these portraits where Cranach’s masterpieces. I love reading through the creation account in Genesis. As God created, He loved what He created and said that it was very good. en we read that He created Adam and Eve in His image. And He said the same thing, and it was very good. We are God’s workmanship, His masterpiece. We may look at ourselves and say, “I don’t get it. I don’t look like a masterpiece. I have so many imperfections, the canvas does not look completed at all.” God is still painting the canvas of our life. So what do we do in the meantime? Keep trusting God. Keep listening to His voice. Keep obeying Him. Live like you are a work of art, created by God Himself, because you are. Always remember that God doesn’t make junk. O ur school was well represented on Servathon day! Our junior high and high school students did a lot of work at HSCA, FEA, Salvation Army, LAHIA, and House of Hope. Our final total raised for Walkathon/Servathon was $34,782.00! T he benefit auction for our school will be November 16. e anksgiving dinner begins at 6:00 pm. Meal tickets are $25. e auction will have many items and giſt certificates available for you to purchase. L ifetouch picture retake day will be next Monday, November 18. Order forms are in the office for those who were absent. Please bring your photo packet back if you ordered pictures and want to retake your photo. T he Safety Patrol will sponsor a denim day on November 20. You can pay $3.00 and wear a spirit shirt, tennis shoes, girls can wear a long denim skirt, & boys can wear jeans instead of their uniform. T he elementary students who raised over $250 for Walkathon will be going to a day on the farm November 21. Be sure to return the permission forms for your child to Rachel Collins. O ur anksgiving program for HSCA will be November 24 in the CEC Auditorium at 6:30 pm. High School, Junior High, and Messengers choir members please watch for an e-mail with details. K2-5 students need to be in the T-hall at 6 PM to meet their teachers so they can get them lined up. We are going with black and white clothing with picture day guidelines. T here will be early dismissal at 12:00 and no aſtercare provided on November 27. ere will also be no school on November 28-29 to allow our teachers and students to enjoy the anksgiving holiday. Y earbooks ads are available for those parents who wish to recognize their student. e cost for 1/8 page ad is $25, 1/4 page ad is $50, 1/2 page ad is $80 and a full page is $130. F or the protection of all of our students, please adhere to the following guidelines when determining if you should bring your child to school.
