“Our Competitive Edge”

While everyone is waiting for the economy to “Heat Up” for the coming winter, we at Briscoe are increasing our offerings by “Bundling Services” just like many cable companies do. In this way a customer can do one stop shopping for our Fire and Security Services. We have networked with our “sister” companies to provide Portable Fire Extinguisher, Kitchen Suppression, Clean Agent Suppression and Wet and Dry Sprinkler Services to our customer base on the fire end. We also are marketing our “BriscoeVision” product that enables our customers to command and control their Security, Video, Access, and Environmental conditions from any fixed or portable computing device. By “Bundling” these services we can make it much harder for our competition to bid against us since it has been proven that once a customer is satisfied with bundled services, they will stick with a one source provider on any rebid. It is much easier for a customer to manage their services as they are able to reduce staffing and paperwork requirements on their end. Many Life Safety companies do not have the sophistication to manage multiple services but this is something we excel at due to the skills and dedication of our “Work Family” and our computerized systems that is Briscoe’s “Competitive Difference.” As the Holiday Season quickly approaches, I want to wish you and your families the best for the season and a Happy, Healthy, Fire Safe, and Prosperous New Year. I am also proud to announce that for the 37th Year Briscoe will be giving bonuses for all of those co-workers that qualify. I would like to thank you all for your contribution in making Briscoe what it is today since “Briscoe is only as good as YOU make it “ Let’s keep building Briscoe Bigger, Better, Faster, and Stronger for us all!

CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT

SPOTLIGHT ON EMPLOYEES

Sean Wisniewski

Fernando Gonzalez

Sean has been with Briscoe a year and half and is the Materials Planner. He makes sure all the parts for Jobs are here and ready for Jobs to begin as well as making sure all the technicians have everything they need for service calls or jobs. He also assists the service department in finding additional parts they may need for service accounts. Sean is in the process of learning EST IO program-ming to further his training to help in the field whenever an additional set of hands is needed. Sean has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. In his free time he is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and plays the Mandolin and Drums. He plays/records music with his wife as a duet called, SageWind, and is the vice chair on his church council. When he is not doing all that… He likes to carve pumpkins!

Fernando has been a Briscoe Technician for 2 1/2 years. He performs Inspec-tions, Service Calls, Installations, & Programming, always giving the highest quality work possible. He says that he has become a better technician with the help of his mentors Alex, Lito and many other techs at Briscoe. He is always ready, willing, and able to do anything he is called upon to do. His biggest project so far has been managing the installation of Protectowire and heat detectors throughout the Wallach Building at Columbia University. He worked extra hours, and along with the help of the Columbia techs, the job was completed by the deadline. His free time is spent with his family, especially his son Luciano. He likes to wind down after a long week by playing Xbox and watching his favorite sports.

David Amlen started Sound On Sound Recording as a one-room facility in 1987 on West 45th Street in Manhattan. SOS grew into one of the top recording facilities in New York within ten years through equipment and facility upgrades and has ex-panded to five studios. SOS catered to rock, jazz, pop, and hip hop artists including David Bowie, Roger Daltrey, Branford Marsalis, Dave Grusin, Mariah Carey, Be-

yoncé, Puff Daddy, and Jay-Z. Before merging operations with competitor Right Track Recording, SOS garnered more than 65 gold and platinum album awards and resulting sales of over 50 million units world-wide. SOS merged with competitor Right Track Recording (home to many stars including Elton John, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Whitney Houston, and producer Phil Ramone) in 2005 to create Legacy Studios, with locations on both 38th Street near The Javits Center and 48th Street near Rockefeller Center. Building on the previous successes of both facilities, Legacy also catered to Broadway, Holly-wood, and classical music projects including Wicked, The Producers, South Pacific, The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, Wynton Marsalis and Michael Brecker. The current facility, MSR Studios is the result of David buying out his partners in 2009. David and MSR continue to cater to top names and recent projects include If/Then, Kinky Boots, Sting, Aretha Franklin, Renee Fleming, and The Roots (Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show) with Elvis Costello. The combined histories of the facilities have yielded over 150 gold and platinum albums and worldwide sales of more than one hundred fifty million units.

Briscoe’s “Extra Step” Award

Briscoe’s Jen Roertgen (Williams) received the “Extra Step” Award for her skills in customer service, and in particular for her responsiveness to customer concerns and excellent follow through. Her responsiveness, strong interpersonal and organizational skills set a great example throughout our co-worker family. Jen is pictured with Margaret Eckel.

The Difference Between Ordinary and Extraordinary is Taking the Extra Step

William Hird is Briscoe’s sister company that provides support services for our extinguisher, Kitchen & Clean Agent Suppression Services. They have been an industry leader in Fire Protection products since 1951 when the company opened in Brooklyn, NY. The father, William Hird, overcame a debilitating illness to begin the company and left a legacy which continues to thrive today. Various family members are instrumental to the companies continued success. William Hird’s daughter Alice and her husband Thomas Bury purchased the company from Alice’s parents in 1987. Subsequently, Mr. Hird’s grandson and great grandson have joined the company. Their success is driven by years of experience in this industry and providing high quality personal service. Their technicians are factory trained and certified. Briscoe is proud to have a working relationship with such a quality company.

The New York State “Do Not Call Law” became effective in 2001, allowing consumers to place their home landline and personal mobile telephone numbers on one central national Registry to reduce the number of unsolicited telemarketing calls they receive. The New York State Department of State’s Division of Consumer Protection enforces the New York State “Do Not Call Law”. New area code 934 will overlay the 631 area code region of Suffolk County, New York bringing 10-digit dialing to the region. You won’t have to change your present telephone number. The new 934 area code will be assigned only for new telephone numbers within the area code region. The only change will be the way you dial local calls in the 631 area code region. Effective June 18, 2016, area code 631 + the seven- digit telephone number, will be necessary for local and expanded local calls to be com-pleted.

It will not be necessary to dial a “1” or a “0” when dialing your lo-cal and expanded local calls.

Local calling areas and rates will not be affected by this change. Other three-digit numbers that are currently available in your

community or from your provider, such as 211, 311, 511, 611, 711 or 811, will not change.

Beginning July 18, 2015, you may dial using either 7 or 10 digits to complete your local calls. Start early using 10-digit dialing so it will be second nature by the time it is required on June 18, 2016.
