Dear LHS Families,
Go back and read pages 1, 2 & 3 again. We know our scholars are great and they are keeping us on our toes! These are just a few of the honors they’ve garnered, and we appreciate their Chesty Lion commitment.
In the next few pages, you’ll see more student recognitions – but there’s no true way to record the hours of effort our students expend to improve: studying for ACT tests, mentoring younger students, navigating PowerSchool, filming and editing a passion project, volunteering at community events, hosting guest speakers, practicing an instrument or sport, rehearsing lines for a play, fine-tuning debate rounds, working in the evenings and on weekends, reviewing notes, preparing for tests, checking Google Classroom, researching ways to make real, lasting change … the list goes on and on!
October through the end of the semester can seem like a never-ending march. Would you take a moment to recognize the hard work and efforts of the Chesty Lions you know? A word of appreciation or an email or card of thanks can keep a student, teacher, or other staff keep on keeping on!

Two online communication tools allow you to reach out for
information or resources. "Contact Us," found on a tab on our school
and district websites, assists individuals who do not know who to
contact about a question, suggestion, concern, or even a
compliment. "All Students Safe," also found on our website, serves as
an online tool for reporting bullying or safety questions or concerns.
Users of this tool may choose to hide their contact information. We
do find it helpful, though, when investigating safety concerns to have
contact information in case additional information is needed.
Please keep in mind that these online tools do not replace direct
communication with Lawrence High School. If you have a question or
concern relating to the classroom, please contact the teacher. If you
have a question or concern about our school, please contact the
school office at 785-832-5050.
Lawrence High School sincerely appreciates your partnership as we
seek to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment.
