CHINESE GOVERNMENT REPLACES

TEN COMMANDMENTS

As our own country battles to defend freedom

of religion, we pray for Christians around the

world who are facing greater persecutions. In

China, churches belonging to the state-run

“Three-Self Patriotic Movement” have been or-

dered to replace any use of the Ten Command-

ments with quotes by Chinese President Xi

Jinping. Reports indicate that some of these

Protestant churches have already been shut

down for resisting the government’s demands.

An anonymous preacher told Bitter Winter, a

magazine that covers religious liberty issues in

China, “The Communist Party’s ultimate goal is

to ‘become God.’ This is what the devil has al-

ways done.” While this law currently targets

state-run churches, we know the evil one will

not stop at one denomination, and we pray that

Catholics may not endure the same persecu-

tions.

Host: Thirty-Five Dollars ($35)

St. Anthony Soup Kitchen: One Hundred Dollars

($100)

You may donate in your name, in memory of a loved

one, or in the name of your community or civic group.

Please call Nora @ 474-2039 FMI. Thank you!

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN PAYMENTS

If you are placing your payment into the offertory bag,

please be sure your Pledge Payment is in a separate

envelope and clearly marked in order to accurately

credit your account. Thank You!

MASS INTENTION REQUESTS

If you are requesting a mass for specific dates and

times, please schedule that mass way ahead of time –

even a year in advance, believe it or not. Masses will be

scheduled after payment is received. Thank You!
