Dear Stonybrook Families, I would like to inform you of a new procedure being implemented at Stonybrook when receiving visitors to our school. As our parents and guests visit our building, they will be greeted by a staff member and our LobbyGuard system. We take the protection of our children (approximately 1300 5th-8th grader of them) seriously. The LobbyGuards were purchased as another level of security to ensure the safety of our children. Visitors will need a driver’s license or a state ID when entering the building. When the ID is scanned, a limited background check is completed and the visitor’s name tag is printed out. This procedure takes a few minutes, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our visitors. The intent is not to prevent our families from coming into the school but to deter those who may be entering our building under false pretenses. You have entrusted your child’s care and safety with us and we take it seriously. We take the protection of our children (approximately 1300 5th-8th grader of them) seriously. The LobbyGuards were purchased as another level of security to ensure the safety of our children. This procedure takes a few minutes, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our visitors. The intent is not to prevent our families from coming into the school but to deter those who may be entering our building under false pretenses. You have entrusted your child’s care and safety with us and we take it seriously.

Take the First Step and Walk Your Way into a Healthier Lifestyle Warren Central High School will open the Fieldhouse Indoor Walking and Running track for residents of Warren Township. The indoor track, located at 9500 E 18th Street (Door 14), will provide residents an opportunity to use walking as a way to achieve better health, develop a level of physical activity, help lower blood pressure, and reduce stress. The goal is to encourage everyone to establish habits today that make them motivated to continue exercising throughout the year. The Indoor Track is open to all Warren residents ages 18 and over. Everyone will be asked to show a valid driver's license and proof of address. The individual cost is $25/year; family package is $35/year. Hours (subject to change): Mon-Thur, 6:00-8:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10AM-2PM. Contact Randy Johnson at 869-4674 with any questions.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.

CR-PBIS Update Our CORE Store is up and running - and a huge success! Mrs. Griffin visits the lunchroom several times a week with items that students can purchase with the CORE cash they are earning in their classes. They can purchase pens, pencils, highlighters, ear buds, and even backpacks! We also are beginning to plan an end of the semester CORE celebration for students to participate with their CORE cash. More information will be coming on that as we have it available. If you have any questions, or would like to make donations please contact Ms. Stafford at [email protected].
