NOVEMBER/ DECEMBER 2015 Sit with Santa, Fireman’s Parade, & Holiday Lighng On Sunday, November 29th our annual Sit with Santa event will take place from 2pm to 4pm @ Deerfield Town Hall. Children will sit with Santa while families enjoy carols, hot cocoa, home baked goodies, and other Holiday acvies. At 4pm we will unveil our Holiday lights at the Gazebo Field. The Fire- man’s Parade will then make its way through the Village at 4pm. The Parade route begins at the Deerfield Penguin Mart and ends on Church Street. The events are free of charge but donated baked goods are appreciated. We are happy to announce our first-ever Holiday Lighting Extravaganza this year, where homes and businesses may display their holiday lights in a friendly competi- tion. We will also have our annual Sit with Santa, and Fireman’s Parade on November 29 th . In addition, we will be offering our winter holiday camp to students in grades K through 8. We also begin our Monday morning Cookie Clubhouse for toddlers and preschoolers beginning November 30 th . We will be hosting a Parent’s Night Out on December 18 th allowing parents to attend to all their last minute duties. Our youth and adult basketball seasons are in full swing as are our After School program, line dancing, toddler dance, and yoga. Also, keep an eye and ear out for some new adult exercise classes coming your way. Check out the rest of the newsletter for more details on all of these programs. Cookie Clubhouse

The Cookie Clubhouse meets Mondays

from 9:30-10:30 am beginning November

30th at the Deerfield Town Hall on Church

Street. This is a great opportunity for

toddler aged children to have fun while

enhancing social skills together through

dance, play, crafts, and baking.

There is no cost for the Cookie Clubhouse.

Adult Pick-Up Basketball

The program runs Tuesdays from 7-8:30 pm at the Deerfield Community School

Gymnasium. Cost is $2 per evening/$4 for non-resident or $25 for the season or $40

for non-resident. The season runs until March.

Country Line Dancing with Jan Szelest

Beginners, Young Adults, Adults, and Seniors are all welcome! Country Line

Dancing takes place on Wednesday eve-nings at 6:30 at the beautiful “Studio 59” in the George B. White Building. Classes are provided free of charge by Deerfield Parks

and Recreation (Donations to our instructor are accepted and appreciated.)

Yoga With Nancy

Yoga with Nancy runs Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-7 pm at the

Deerfield Town Hall. The cost is $60 for a 6-week session or $10 per drop-in.

Holiday Lighting Extravaganza

We are excited to announce our first-ever Holiday home and business lighting extrava-

ganza. This contest is free to enter and in the tradition of the Women’s Aid there will be prizes for the winners in three separate categories. Categories will include: Most Spectacular, Most Creative, and Simply Elegant. The deadline to enter is Friday,

December 4th. All homes and businesses should be ready to display by Saturday,

December 12th. The judging will take place on Sunday, December 13th.

Cookie Clubhouse begins November 30th.

Parents Night Out

On Friday, December 19th parents can enjoy a night out from 6-10 pm. While you enjoy a night out, drop the kids off with us for a night of fun. At 6pm we will be providing Yanni’s Pizza, juice, and cookies for dessert. Some of the

fun will include crafts, games, and dancing. We will end the night with a

movie so feel to send your child with a sleeping bag and pillow to use until

pick-up.

Cost per child will be $10 or $18 for a family. For kids’ ages potty-trained and

up you must pre-register by Friday, December 11th.

many or as few days as you like.
