From the Handicap Committee
Citing the USGA “play it forward” initiative, current members have until December 31, 2015 to
choose which tees they will play from. New members have 30 days from the start of their
membership to choose their tee boxes; if they do not select a tee the Pro Shop staff will assign a
designated tee. Both current and new members should notify the Pro Shop staff of their choice.
For more information about the USGA’s Tee it forward initiative click the link below or cut and
paste it into you browser address bar.
Also see the suggested driver distance chart below to assist in determining the set of tees you
should play from for the Fox Run tees.
TEE IT FORWARD
This chart is a guideline to help golfers align their average driving distance with the course length best suited to their abilities.
Driver Distance Recommended 18-Hole Yardages
275 6,700-6,900
250 6,200-6,400 Fox Run Blue Tees
225 5,800-6,000 Fox Run White Tees
200 5,200-5,400 Fox Run Gold Tees
175 4,400-4,600 Fox Run Red Tees is the closest
150 3,500-3,700
125 2,800-3,000
100 2,100-2,300
As of December 1, 2015, a letter will be sent to all members who have not complied with the letter
from the handicap committee and not posted their scores. Due to technical issues, the handicap
committee has been delayed in their course of actions, referenced in the August letter sent to all
club members. Accordingly the December 1st letter will allow recipients a week to contact the club
to discuss the matter. A penalty score of 6 shots will be assessed in mid-December 2015.
Failure to post scores may affect eligibility to play in future club sponsored tournaments / events.

Please Fill Your Divot and One More As we head into winter and the turf is going dormant, it is very important that we fill all divots made while playing. We encourage all players to fill their divot and at least one more. Sand is provided on the carts and more bottles are at the turn for
refilling. As well each Par 3 box has sand that can be used to fill divots made on the tee box. The Par 3 tees take a pretty good beating by winters end. Let’s fill
those divots and keep the course heading the right direction.
The Golf Staff would like to give
Charles Perilloux “The Sand Man”
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU for coming out at least two to three times a week to fill divots in all of the landing
areas and Par 3 tees on the golf course. The difference is noticeable Let’s all help Charles by filling divots as we play

FIX ALL DIVOTS ON GREENS With all of the WET weather we are experiencing brings up
the issue of repairing ball marks. It is imperative that we take good care of the surface of the greens to insure a smooth roll throughout the winter months. So let’s take good care of the greens and fix your ball marks and any others you see on the greens. This will allow for a great putting experience for all.
Thank You to the Seniors & The 552
Thank you to the Seniors & the 552 for purchasing nice tarps for the 7th, 8th & 9th greens. These tarps do not come cheap and serve a
purpose that is imperative for the health of the greens during the very cold temps. Any kind of protection that we can offer the green
surface is very important. Thanks again for your caring and concern for Fox Run and its
members.
Congratulations Carey on your Hole In One

Tony’s Copy Greetings from the grounds:
I would like to start with big thanks to the seniors, 552 and the club for purchasing three more tarps for
our greens this coming winter. We have ordered tarps for holes 7, 8 and 9. This will leave us needing
only 4 more and some replacements in the upcoming years. With the onset of November upon us we
will be going to the three hole system on our greens, our goal will be to rotate the three holes every
month so we don’t wear out three areas for the next 5 months. As we all know November brings with it
frost delays. I understand that frost delays can be a burden when you are eager to play on a 32 degree
morning but please understand frost delays are not a form of punishment to keep you from playing, it is
however a protection policy for are greens. Foot traffic will crush frozen cells in the leaf blade turning
them black and possibly killing plant. Your patience and understanding during the frost delays is greatly
appreciated.
