YOUR TICKET TO AN AMAZING AND ENTERTAINING EVENING!!

WOW!! WHAT A NIGHT!! A truly beautiful performance by PITTMAN HIGH

SCHOOL CONCERT CHOIR and MADRIGALS, under the direction of YOHAN

PARTAN, and a top 10 International finalist quartet, ARTISTIC LICENSE,

both appearing on our annual show, Saturday night, November 3RD. FANTASTIC!! It was a wonderful preview for our faithful patrons to our ‘soon-to-be, not-too far-away’ May 11th show at Modesto Junior College. As exciting and entertaining Saturday’s show was, we can expect May’s performance to be exciting and memorable as well. Thanks to DAVID FUENTES, VON and ZACH WALLIN for their memorable performance ‘in the water’ on “By the Beautiful Sea”. Truly a crowd pleaser. Thanks, also, to CHUCK ROOTS, RON RUSSELL, and TERRELL CHAMBERS

for their narrative on the ‘island’ scene. Thanks, also, to our ‘story tellers’, DARREL BRIGHT, VON WALLIN, and everyone’s favorite pirate, RICHARD LUND. Marvelous performances by all. It will take a while before we can forget the “Rubber Duckie” dance! To put on a performance such as this, you need narrative and a script, and the individual responsible for the marvelous dialogue was DAN

WARSCHAUER.

The words to Gilligan’s Island opener and closer, as well as Moonlight Bay’s changes were his doing also. DAN also did his usual fantastic job of MC-ing the show. A man of many talents. Thank you, Dan. Special thanks to STRAT RIGGS for being in charge of the many props required for the show. It is with deep gratitude and fondness that we say goodbye to BRUCE

SELLNOW, our director for 9 years and GVC member for 23. His commitment to the GVC has been extraordinary. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with you.

LIFE’S LITTLE INSTRUCTION BOOK

• Surprise a new neighbor with one of your favorite homemade dishes --- and include the recipe.

• Don’t forget a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

• Feed a stranger’s expired parking meter.

• Park at the back of the lot at shopping centers. The walk is good exercise.

• Don’t watch violent television shows, and don’t buy the products that sponsor them.

• Don’t carry a grudge.

• Show respect for all living things.

• Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank full.

• Choose work that is in harmony with your values.

• Loosen up. Relax. Except for rare life-and-death matters, nothing is as important as it first seems.

• Give your beat to your employer. It’s one of the best investments you can make.

• Swing for the fence.

• Attend high school art shows, and always buy something.

• Observe the speed limit.

• Commit yourself to constant self-improvement.

• Take your dog to obedience school. You’ll both learn a lot

• Don’t allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It’s there for your

convenience, not the caller’s.

LAUGHTER! LAUGHTER! LAUGHTER! LAUGHTER! Nature’s Remedy

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven. When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven... Don't step on the ducks."

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the

first woman accidentally steps on one. Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw. St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!"

The next day, the second woman accidentally steps on a duck. Along comes St. Peter with another extremely ugly

man. He chains them together with the same punishment as the first woman.

The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps. She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks. Then, one day, St. Peter

comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on... tall, muscular and with good hair. St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.

The woman remarks, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?"

The guy says, "Well, I don't know what you did, but I stepped on a duck."
