Stewardship is a year long process of discerning how our gifts of Time, Talent, and Treasure can be used for the upbuilding of God’s kingdom here on Earth. As a church, as a congregation, as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to hear God’s word and to bring God’s teachings into reality through our worship, study, outreach, and ministry.
Each Sunday: the time, talent, and treasure of our congregation are utilized as we gather together in community to pray, to listen to God’s word, to sing, to nurture our young in the faith, and to fellowship with each other.
Our work does not stop there. We gather as community in Bible Studies as well as in committee meetings, or in ministry gatherings since this is sacred work that we do. Our facility is used in ministry for others with both Boy and Girl Scout troops and a Bi-Polar/Depression support group. We have also been supplying storage space to Roxbury Social Services.
FPCS is engaged in Mission/Outreach through our support of numerous non-profit agencies such as: Homeless Solutions,
Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity, Faith Kitchen, and Roxbury Social Services. This past summer was a true blessing as at least twenty members and friends of the church gathered throughout a week to participate in hands on mission with various local agencies.
Stewardship unites us together as a community of believers, of people who can gather with common beliefs and values and through God’s guidance and inspiration can make a difference in our community and world.
Every gift given to FPCS makes a difference, whether it is a gift of time, talent, or treasure. It makes a difference to the people that gather here and it makes a difference in the greater community in which we live. Let us continue this good and sacred work that God has called us into. Please consider giving to FPCS whether it be your time, your talent, or your treasure.
