Novesta High School Girls!

Thank you so very much for the lovely meal you

brought us. How very thoughtful of you!

The hot dish was delicious—the home made

loaf of bread was special!

We will always remember your thoughtful gift

to us!

May God bless you and the work you are doing

— you brightened up our day!

Gerald and Elsie Hicks

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Novesta,

I would like to thank each and every one of you

for everything you have done for me and my fam-

ily!

As many of you know its been seven weeks since

the diagnosis was made that I have Multiple Scle-

rosis. So for the last eight weeks, I’ve been unable

to walk which has been a big challenge, I just

thank God everyday for blessing me with many

hands and legs! We have so many wonderful peo-

ple to help us each step of the way and we are so

thankful.

Thank you for the thoughts, prayers, meals,

and words of encouragement. There is not a day

that goes by where one of you don’t touch or make

an impact in our lives. We are so blessed to have

such an amazing Christian family, and to be

apart of such as a great congregation!! Thank you

so much, God bless each and everyone of you!!

With Love,

Heather Roberts

I sincerely appreciate the care package

I recently received. It means a lot that the congre-

to know that no matter what I am going though,

there will always be the church that will be there.

Again, I thank you for the package and your con-

tinued thoughts.

May God continue to do his work!

With love, Brandon Hartwick

CHRISTMAS BASKETS & GIFTS

This year we have six families that we are pro-

viding with a food basket and gifts for the children. There is a food list on the foyer bulletin board

to sign up for what you would like to donate. Also, there will be a small ornament tree in the

foyer. The items listed on each ornament are just

suggestions. So, (1) take an ornament,

(2) buy the gift,

(3) wrap it,

(4) tape the ornament on the gift,

(5) bring it back to church and place it

in the office. We plan to deliver the baskets/gifts on Decem-

ber 21. Let’s plan to have the gifts at the church

by Sunday, December 19th and the food items by

Tuesday noon, Dec. 21, for delivery that afternoon.

We want to thank everyone in advance for your

generosity.

Glory in the Glory in the Glory in the Glory in the HighestHighestHighestHighest

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus, God’s only Son, was with His Father from the very begin-

ning. The whole universe and everything in it came into being by and through Jesus – planets, stars by the millions, entire galaxies. And from the begin-ning of time, the heavens were declaring His glory, day and night. Glory attributes profound weight to the awe-someness of God; glory is a brilliant light associated with the presence of God; but more than that, glory is manifested in our act of worship to God – our King of kings and Lord of lords! The choir invites you to join them as they tell the Christmas story, emphasizing the importance of glorifying Christ, and ultimately leading us to the throne in worship. So, mark your calendars for DECEMBER 12th , (at our 10:30 a.m. service). Congregation participa-tion will be expected. Come prepared to be led into His presence, so that you too may be a reflector of God’s glory. *The choir has asked that if you have a battery oper-ated candle that you please bring it to use during part of the cantata. The more there are, the more dramatic it will be.

CO-ED

VOLLEYBALL Starting in January we’ll

be participating in the church co-ed adult volley-

ball league that meets at

the Cass City Middle School. If you’re inter-

ested in playing this year, there will be

a sign-up in the middle hallway. We need to know who’s playing to see if

we’ll have one team or two. Particu-

larly we need to know which ladies are interested as we need to have at least

two ladies on the court at all times.

The Volleyball league plays late nights

on Thursdays, so sign up if you’re in-terested.

YOUR ELDERS MEET The next elders meeting will be Monday,

December 27, at 7:00 p.m. If you have any

praises or concerns, feel free to share them

with any elder or either Brad.

LUNCH BUNCHLUNCH BUNCHLUNCH BUNCHLUNCH BUNCH

Our Lunch Bunch had a great evening Novem-ber 4th when we went to the Caro K of C “mystery play.” The actors did a great job and we had a LOT of laughs. (I think it was even more fun be-cause we knew several of the actors.) We have been talking it over and for the win-ter months, when we can’t depend on good weather, maybe we will just meet for breakfast or lunch and then go to the church (or someone’s home) and extend our time of fellowship by play-ing games or whatever we think of … we could do some type of craft, puzzles, share some project we are working on, or ??? If you have any ideas, we’d be glad to hear them. Watch the Sunday bulletins for dates and times of our next gathering. [Attention ALL Ladies: There is a Christmas pageant this Friday, December 3rd, at the First United Methodist Church in Marlette titled “The Only Christmas Pageant in Town”. If anyone is interested in going as a group, let Mary Helen know ASAP so we can make plans. No tickets are required, there is a free-will offering.]

LOCK-

IN

After the 5th Quarter Party on December

10th, we’re going to be pulling an all-nighter

with our 7th-12th grade students. We’re ex-

pecting as many as 50-60 kids spending an

entire night here at the church. The night

will be filled with wacky games, exciting

worship, fun activities, and loads of caffeine.

If you’re a night owl, or just have a passion

for kids and would like to help, please talk

to Brad Speirs as soon as possible. We’ll

need lots of great staff to pull off this event

that gives us a great chance to ‘save a life’

for Jesus.

Hi! I’m back!!! Did you wonder what had hap-pened to me? I didn’t write to you last month ‘cause I was a little under the weather. I’m so excited about all the pro-grams coming up this month (not just because of all the cookie crumbs but because it is the time we celebrate Jesus and His birth). I over heard them say that there will a Hymn Sing, and a Kid’s program with cookies afterwards...yummy!... and a Christmas cantata too (it’s on a Sunday morning so I guess that’s not a good time to have cookies after-wards). Enjoy Christmas and your time with family and friends. Encourage your children to remember the most important reason we celebrate Christmas. Merry Christmas

from your church mouse,

C.R.A.M. (Christ Reaching Asia Mission) This month we want to share parts of an article written by a man that visited CY and Patricia back in August. It gives such a good overall view of this ministry. Our first stop was Seoul, South Korea, to visit CY’s nephew, Sang Ho Kim. Sang Ho heads up a prison ministry and numerous other mission projects in South Korea. It was a blessing to participate in a worship service with several prisoners serving long sentences at the prison. While some may never leave the prison, they were free in Christ and their love

for Him was evident to us all - lives changed for eternity. On August 6, we finally arrived in Hunchun, China, where C.R.A.M. is headquartered. The next seven days were filled with visits to the various projects initiated by this dynamic ministry. We met dedicated mis-sionary families that work tirelessly for the gospel, college students volunteering large blocks of time to help teach English, mission workers from Russia and South Korea, and local workers thankful for employment in the Good News Bakery and other projects. August 9-11 was one of the most interesting and depressing 48 hours of my life. We had the privilege of being invited to North Korea and spent approximately two days there. We were accompanied by two North Korean officials everywhere we went and were actually treated very well. The landscape of North Korea is very pretty. In places it reminded me of the Smokey Mountains, with clouds hanging below the mountain tops. The buildings were mostly drab and the roads mostly mud. Most people are on foot. We are not al-lowed to approach anyone but a few individuals did make eye contact and acknowledge us with a smile. We visited the C.R.A.M. sponsored bakery and tasted the bread they produce, an orphanage, kindergarten and day care center, plus two medical clinics. We saw one truckload of rice given by our church being unloaded into a locked C.R.A.M. shipping container. It will be distributed by C.R.A.M. personnel to those who are in need. A second load will be delivered later. We did not see many workers or children and were told everyone was on vacation. We also saw the farm operations where cattle, hogs, and chickens are raised. C.R.A.M. provides employment and food to many people in North Korea. A home for children over age 18 with no place to go is under construction as well as a new multi-purpose facility. The multi-purpose facility is designed to be a profitable venture to help the ministry in North Korea become self supporting. Near one of the medical clin-ics, we saw two wells sponsored by our church, that provide safe drinking water for people in the area. It was sweet to taste that water. North Korea may be the most difficult place on earth for the gospel but Dr. Kim and the others on his staff are working hard, determined to share the Good News in that place. WOODBURN CHRISTIAN CHILDREN’S HOME Lee Bracey has asked prayer for the Psychologist that Woodburn uses, his name is Steve Heine. Steve is recovering from a stroke and will have surgery as soon as his health permits. Also, one of the sets of house parents has a father fighting cancer and WCCH is making special provision for them to spend precious time with their family. After the 1st of the year, several children may be returning to their families. That leaves room for new WCCH family members. If you know a boy or girl who needs help or needs a home, please call the WCCH office at 260-632-5551.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED… When leaving the building we all need to remember to make sure the doors are locked, lights are off, and heat is turned downdowndowndown (we never turn it off for the winter, we turn it down

to 62º—make sure it says heat NOT cool). The heat does not need to be turned down

between the morning and evening services on Sunday. Thank you for your help.
