Ambassadors’ Welcome to Survey about Italy and Italian-Bulgarian Relationship!

Dear Reader,

Welcome to an exciting on-line trip to Italy and to matters related to Italy's relationship with Bulgaria in the recent past.

On the occasion of the National Day of Italy (June 2nd) and in the framework of the celebrations of the 150th Anniversary of the Italian Unification, the Embassy of Italy is proud to offer about 65 articles about topics which we believe may interest Bulgarian readers.

I am grateful to Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency) and to Maxim Behar for the opportunity they offered to the Embassy of Italy to disseminate interesting, surprising, useful, serious (and less serious) information. Working with them has been a rewarding experience: their professionalism, enthusiasm and ingenuity were amazing.

The articles concern history, Italian business activity, culture, typical aspects of Italian life, bilateral co-operation, and much more.

I am deeply in debt with the authors of the articles, who took valuable time off from their occupations to write them, for free.They all responded enthusiastically to my letter asking them to offer some thoughts about a topic they knew well.

I wish to thank the Bulgarian staff of the Embassy (and especially Nevena Minova) for their co-operation and thorough dedication to this initiative, the translator Iren Boykikeva, and all those who spent a great deal of time to make a good product.

Apart from the on-line edition in English, we intend to publish very soon a paper version in Bulgarian, to be distributed free of charge to interested readers. I am indebted to UniCredit Bulbank for their generous contribution to this endeavor.
