Nozzle types

Nederman’s wide range of nozzles for exhaustextraction fits most kinds of vehicles andextraction systems. The nozzles are divided intothe following categories:

• Manual nozzles• Manual nozzles with safety disconnection• Nozzles with automatic disconnection• Test funnels• Specially designed nozzles

None of our exhaust nozzles fit tightly on to theexhaust pipe. Therefore, no negative pressuredevelops in the vehicle exhaust system. Ambientair, acting as a coolant, is therefore pulledthrough the nozzle. This lengthens the life-timeof the exhaust hose considerably.

RUBBER NOZZLESA rubber nozzle made of EPDM or neoprene(CR) is resistant to exhaust temperatures up to150°C at normal use. Rubber reduces the risk of damaging the carenamel, and a rubber nozzle is not as easilydeformed as a metal one. The nozzle is easily and safely attached to theexhaust pipe with the use of a quick-releaselocking clamp.

METAL NOZZLESA metal nozzle has a simple design. The spring-loaded lid keeps the nozzle in place on theexhaust pipe, but it also works as an effectivedamper when the exhaust extraction is not inuse. The use of a metal nozzle together with asuitable exhaust hose is recommended whenworking with high exhaust temperatures.

N.B. WHEN CHOOSING TYPEA nozzle without fastening device (e.g. alocking clamp) might slide off the exhaust pipeif the vehicle is moved in any direction.A metal nozzle has sharp edges and may, if itfalls freely, cause more damage than a rubbernozzle.

MANUAL RUBBER NOZZLE

• Easy to attach and easy to disconnect. An adjustable locking clamp securesthe nozzle to the vehicle exhaust pipe.

• Made of EPDM or neoprene (CR) rubber. At normal useresistant to exhaust temperatures up to 150°C.

MANUAL METAL NOZZLE

• A simple and robust nozzle that resists high temperatureexhaust.

• The spring-loaded lid helps keep the nozzle attached to the vehicleexhaust pipe. The lid also works as a damper when the nozzle is not in use.

A flexible metal hose reduces temperature strain on the lowerpart of the exhaust hose. It is 0.3 – 0.5 m long (depending onhose diameter) and fits into the exhaust hose.

A wire guard ensures that rags etc.cannot be drawn into the hose.

• A nozzle with safety disconnection is used where there isa risk of forgetting to disconnect the nozzle before thevehicle leaves the workplace/garage.

Nozzles with automatic disconnection

Nozzles with automatic disconnection are intended for usein extraction systems for moving vehicles. Using nozzleswith automatic disconnection is time saving and also veryconvenient.

The nozzles are made of rubber (EPDM or neoprene) orglass fibre. All of the different nozzles are resistant totemperatures up to 150°C at normal use. Most of thenozzles have an extra powerful locking clamp. This isimportant, since they are attached to moving vehicles.

The use of nozzles with automatic disconnection requiresthat the complete extraction system is designed for thispurpose. In general this kind of nozzle is included in theextraction units in the Nederman automatic extractionsystems.

Tests funnels for cars, LCV and HCV

Test funnels

The Nederman funnels are designed for handling largevolumes and especially hot exhaust, from stationaryvehicles at e.g. Inspection Centres.

Two different kinds of funnels are available:

1) Funnel for exhaust pipes turned downwards orwithdrawn into the body.

2) Funnel for exhaust pipes projecting from the body.
