“Swapping” your tickets means that you can swap tickets from one KeyBank Broadway Series show into another Series show, or a list of other non-Series shows provided. You can do this just one time and restrictions do apply. Most season ticket holders take advantage of this option if there is one show they cannot attend due to a schedule conflict. They may also use the benefit when there is a show they do not wish to see due to content or other reasons. And while PlayhouseSquare does not feel that we should judge for others what is appropriate for them, we do provide this benefit so that our guests can make their own choice.

A “ticket exchange” allows you to exchange your tickets into another date of the same engagement due to schedule conflicts or illness.

Example: You’ve just returned from New York and saw Anything Goes. You may wish to swap your two tickets from Anything Goes for two tickets to Beauty and the Beast, or two tickets to Les Misérables.

Example: Your regular seats for Sister Act are on a Friday night of the first week of the engagement, but you need to be out of town for a wedding. Exchange your tickets from that Friday night to any other performance of Sister Act –perhaps the following Thursday night.

PlayhouseSquare offers full bar and concessions including specialty cocktails, wraps, locally baked pastries, soft pretzels, candy and more.

We work hard to keep our pricing affordable with most items being far less than other entertainment venues.

As a not-for-profit performing arts center, we retain just a small portion of ticket proceeds to operate the theaters and provide educational outreach. We do rely on food and beverage sales to help fill the gap. We regret that outside food and beverages are not permitted in the theaters.

Food & Drink in the Theaters

While snacks and beverages purchased at PlayhouseSquare are permitted inside the theaters, please be courteous to those around you when unwrapping and consuming them.

DiD You Know? PlayhouseSquare created a program to provide bus transportation so schools can afford to bring their students to live theater? Titled “Partners in Performance” we offer this service to 32 different school districts in Northeast Ohio.

PlayhouseSquare facilitated the partnership of Cleveland Play House and Cleveland State University so that each could use the Allen Theatre as their new home? All three organizations collaborated to raise the funds needed to renovate the Allen and build two new theaters to accommodate their work.

You have two new dining options at PlayhouseSquare? PlayhouseSquare has attracted noted local chef, Zack Bruell, to open his fifth restaurant, Cowell & Hubbard, in the PlayhouseSquare District. And Alex Bistro and Bar just opened in the Hanna Building on East 14th Street.

On average, PlayhouseSquare retains just 10 cents of every dollar from ticket sale proceeds. The amount is reinvested back into the theaters.

The common public perception is that ticket purchases serve as a donation. While they do help the bottom line, PlayhouseSquare must still raise $5 million each year to operate and maintain the theaters at the quality standards that our guests expect and deserve. We are committed not only to providing a variety of entertainment on our stages, but also to serving our community through educational outreach and developing the downtown area and economy.

Consider giving to PlayhouseSquare. Visit playhousesquare.org/donate to learn about our many giving levels and programs.

We thank KeyBank for their generous support of the Broadway Series at PlayhouseSquare.
