Welcome to NRG Park

This premier sports, convention, tradeshow/consumer

show and entertainment complex is located in Harris

County, specically Houstons South main corridor district,

the cultural center and urban hub of Houston. Four major

facilities NRG Stadium, NRG Center, NRG Arena and NRG

Astrodome encompass 350 acres and provide 26,000

Our show, The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show, was a new consumer show for NRG

Center and it was overwhelmingly and incredibly successful. It far surpassed anything in Washingt

D.C. or Atlanta for the rst year. The space was perfect for our event and the sta was very

professional and accommodating. We have already reserved space for the next two years and loo

forward to bigger and better shows in the future at NRG Center and continuing our partnership

with NRG Park.

physical layout with access and parking on all sides allows our exhibitors and patrons to park

professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Most importantly, they are exible and we can chang

our plans and add stang in a moments notice. Like any large event, we overlook some items, bu

we always get them worked out. Our show is dierent than a normal exhibition and the fact that

the NRG Center personnel remain from year to year makes it much easier to run the event.

Billed as The Eighth Wonder of the World by

Judge Roy Hofheinz, the 70,000 seat Astrodome,

the worlds rst domed stadium, debuted in 1965.

This iconic structure served as an important sports

and performance facility serving the Harris County

community for nearly forty years.

In its heyday some of the biggest names in sports

won and lost at the Astrodome including Elvin

Hayes, Muhammad Ali, Joe Namath, Mickey Mantle,

Billie Jean King, Bobby Riggs, Sandy Koufax, Earl

Campbell, Warren Moon and Nolan Ryan. With the

likes of Selena, Elvis Presley, George Strait, Tom

Jones and the numerous other A-list stars

performing on the Astrodomes stage at the

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, there was

never a lack of star power.

While the future of NRG Astrodome is uncertain, its

memories will last in the hearts of many forever.

Reliant Park Going Green

The Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation

(HCSCC) and NRG Park are committed to the

eort of caring for our environment and have

engaged in a continuous commitment to be

environmentally conscious by implementing green

practices into our facility operations.

NRG Park is reducing chemical product usage

by introducing the Orbio 5000-Sc, a chemical free,

eective cleaning solution generated automatically

on-site.

Window shades in the Stadium Press Box

automatically or manually drop down during the

hottest times of the day reducing ambient heat

buildup.

Motion sensors are installed in individual oces

and restrooms to reduce lighting when notrequired.

Motion sensor sinks and ush valves in the rest

rooms to save water.

With the assistance of Waste Management, over

250 collection bins were purchased and distributed

at strategic locations throughout NRG Stadium

and the recycling program is focused on the

collections of cardboard, glass and plastic.

NRG Park has created 30 acres of green space

that includes 2,200 trees and two permanent

water features. Thermal controlled fan switches are installed on all

16 NRG Stadium matrix boxes.

SMG-NRG Park annually participates in the

Lights Out Houston four-day initiative, capping an

end to the national Earth Week Campaign.

NRG Park continues to use the Building

Automation System (BAS), established to

maximize energy use throughout NRG Park.

We work hand in hand with our clients to ensure

that excess food has not gone to waste and isdonated to local shelters.

NRG Park is upgrading our lighting to high

eciency bulbs to save energy as well as money.

NRG Park supports eco-friendly vendors when at

all possible.
